Hello, we are a DID system of 15 and we recently found out about progranming from a cult leader alter that subjected 7 alters to programming. We recognize Shutdown, Suicide and possibly Reporting and Return programs. We dont know how to stop this, any advice?
It will take some time to work with the alters who respond to those programs.
Having people around you that can support you and others as you attempt to heal is important. Focus on safety and what you and the others need in order to feel safe.If there are dates that are important to the cult and call back programming/return programming is likely try to have someone you trust spend time with you during those days.
Suicide programming can be tough to navigate. When it comes to suicide if one of these things are removed then the odds of a successful suicide drop: Method (Plan, hanging), Means (have pills, have rope), and the time (tomorrow when I get off work).
I’m not sure what your shutdown programming looks like. If you feel comfortable and safe can you describe it?
Reporting programming will lessen with time, as people begin to feel safe and can know they don’t have to report what is happening it will become less frequent.
