Updated Katseye kibbe and possible essences for them? Really curious as not much online for them aside from body shapes?

Retyping KATSEYE

I figured now is a good time to do this, since my older typings of KATSEYE were mostly guesses/not in line with how I think after learning about the girls, their styles, etc.

Manon

Manon is known for her fairytale-type facial features. She suits soft makeup well, she has rounded features... so I think she does 'glam yin' like ruffles, soft embellishments etc very well. But she clearly has sharpness in her bones and long limbs. I think I saw her as a SG bc I noticed lush face + dry bone structure, but she doesn't seem petite at all. Ergo, Soft Dramatic. I think she stands out in Gabriela for the styling. She suits big, curly hair and low necklines amazingly well. Even her hair in the bottom right pic is too linear, the top left is more appropriate to her vertical + curve. I will say I haven't seen the girls in person, and cameras can effect perception, so Manon could be tiny in person! (like a Beyonce situation) so if that's the case, TR is my second choice.

Kitchener essence: Ingenue (very), Romantic.

Sophia

I noticed Sophia's shoulders and pegged her as a FN. An example of hyperfocusing on one part when clearly FN doesn't fit her, in the recommendations or essence. Rather, she has a T-shape (wide shoulders and slim ribcage/waist) that FNs OR SDs often have. She's a definite SD, very at home in diva-chic looks, voluminous hair, and bright makeup (like Manon, she has rounded/soft yin features). Basically: diva chic! I noticed her and Manon in Gabriela because as SDs, the styling worked so well for them.

With her fierce vibe and fresh look I was so sure Dani is a short FN... but, I've come to the conclusion that she's an SN. Her being natural fam shouldn't surprise anyone haha! In the end, she doesn't look elongated the way an FN would. She's a moderate-looking SN. Her vibe reminds me of a lot of female popstars, Britney Spears or J Lo, both of whom are SNs. I think her personal style leans on heavier fabrics and more dramatic, yang silhouettes, but she looks great in softer fabrics and cropped hemlines (top left is an amazing look for her).

Kitchener essence: Natural, Dramatic

Lara

I was sure Lara was a D, because her facial features seem so sharp, and I see such obvious elongation in her. But... yeah she's FN. I think that's her style and her vibe, a carefree chill-type person, and she looks so good in oversize. A detail on frame: Lara doesn't look 'wide'. But she has that T-shape I mentioned. A D generally has a rectangle shape, so from the armpit to the bottom of the waist, it's a straight-ish line, but she has more of an hourglass shape so her frame seems wider in the shoulders and hips, not column-shaped like a D.

Megan

Megan was the one I was least sure about. I thought due to her soft facial features and overall softness she was SD. My thinking process was: "SD -> FN-like? -> No, that doesn't fit, she looks like a taller FG->duh, she's a dramatic!" She has that body type that I was talking about, a rectangle shape common in Ds. It's the top-left photo that convinced me, she does crisp, boxy styles so well. Anything too unstructured doesn't work. Also, it should be said that a lot of Ds have surprisingly soft facial features (verified Cate Blanchett and France Nuyen are some examples)

KATSEYE's maknae is the only one I got right! She's the definition of FN, and her style works super well with her essence.

So, we have 2 SDs, 2 FNs, one D and one SN! All the girls have pretty similar heights/body types so I'm not surprised they lean yang (3 members are full yang and the other 3 are yang with a pronounced yin curve).

I've always thought your answers and explanation to be very tert Ti...If you don't mind, could you explain what led you to retyping?

Ah yes finally... The question i was waiting for.

The main and simplest reason is because I switched of paradigm, for the one named CT: Cognitive Type. This approach has a visual typing method called Vultology, and from the videos I sent in the server the result was revealing most likely FiSe ("ISFP") with conscious Ni, thus the little l-l- thingy in my bio which stands for function consciousness.

Of course, simple visual analysis didnt convince me on its own at first, but when I read the theoretical part, it convinced me really fast. They basically articulated everything I conceived about Cognitive functions and got an objective methodology to assess them, which is the lacking aspect and biggest flaw of the jungian mbti (j-mbti) system mostly used on tumblr.

Anyway, when I read about "Ji lead", I had to constate two things:

1. It did still fit with my way of processing quite well, and which you, anon, and many others, have been also reporting about me.

2. It was overlapping a lot with the Ni-Ji descriptions made in J-mbti, especially the Ni-Ti one.

When I got into Fi descriptions, I got a bit flabbergasted. Within one single function, they explained everything I tried to convey within four ; Ni-Fe-Ti-Se. But when i read the Ti one, it was the most unrelatable shit i have ever read of my life. Ni was still relatable as well, but the only reason why i didnt retype to NiTe instead, else than because my vultology doesnt match NiTe one, is because of their theory on cognitive development and consciousness level.

As i mentioned, i have Ni "conscious", and within this theory, conscious functions share equally the energy used for cognitive processing with the leading function. So, it means Fi and Ni are used in equal measure, like a symbiotic whole. It's like if both were dominant, almost. However, if energy is restrained for some reasons and one has to be sacrificed, Fi will remain predominant.

Of course, this doesnt tell why I think Fi dominance explain my process better now, so here is the link, as it would take me way too much time and energy to write it myself when i have an article at my disposition to do the job for me. However, big disclaimer here: it is outdated and needs to be rewritten. Some parts are still "Meh" and this is why it needs to be revisited. But the overall is still very potent and i could relate to most parts.

Also, in this theory, my Se is still pretty much dead even tho it is still technically auxiliary. It is unconscious, and development requires some Ego work. And i am still in the lower stage of my Se development, according to how development happens through this paradigm (which i also fully agree with). I am even ironically more advanced in my Te development, which is near consciousness.

Anyway, I am derailing. There is a lot more that could be said, because the main reason of my retype is about the theory switch i have made. It would requires me to explain a whole theory which is masochistic at this point, especially when knowing the author himself has taken years to write it down, and is still refining it. But in the J-mbti, i'd still type as INFJ, however the CT theory aligns way more with my own conception of cognitive functions, so I identify way more with FiSe overall, which is not necessarily the same as "ISFP" in the J-mbti.

If you want me to explain some specific part of my retyping or have questions about this theory overall (like, wtf unseelie means lmao), i will gladly answer.

A Retyping Process and Conclusion

Alright, so, late last year (2016) I recovered from a terrible “anxiety rut” that lasted nearly 5 years. Around 2 or 3 years ago, I was starting to learn about MBTI functions and concluded (probably too early and during a bad time) my type to be INTJ. Somehow, I recognized my “dominant function” a bit too quick. I based my stack more on what felt “stronger” or “weaker” at the time, while only scratching the surface of what better defines functions in different parts of the stack.

I decided to renew my studies at the beginning of this year - 2017 - and then wrote a huge note document comparing functions and positioning roles to see what my true cognitive type is. All of this started when I read on inferior functions again after recovering from the aforementioned mental issues, and Inf. Fi seemed to hit closer to home than Se. That’s where I started looking into more, but I also considered my own life’s factors and where my functions truly lie in the stack.

Environmental Factors/Influences:

Got bullied lots as a kid. Mainly verbal, 2 to 3 times physical or near-physical

Most friends turned against me to add to my list of bullies

Was raised with mostly feminine expectations (show affection toward anyone/everyone, show emotion, worry about everyone’s feelings, sugarcoat truths, never outwardly disagree with or criticize others or else it’s “rude,” etc.) and slowly grew out of these during my teens while developing my own identity separate from how I was raised - much to the concern/disappointment of my parents.

Mostly had bad teachers that put me down and damaged my self-esteem further

One example: In 5th grade, I had a teacher announce in front of the entire class that my reading levels were the lowest and below average compared to everyone! Including the bullies and soon-to-be-ex-friends! Great job!!

I was born with a neurological disorder that screws up my physical senses a ton. Probably made my Se feel inferior as well from what I understood in the start of my research.

The disorder was a lot worse when I was a kid, but I still have bad issues with it to this day

It’s suspected my big (grand mal?) seizure made this worse for a while when I was 8 years old; and it’s the only seizure I’ve ever had as far as doctors are aware

Anxiety issues, obviously, became uncontrollable during my final high school year (causing more isolation due to overwhelming fears and mental-to-physical symptoms) as I was under lots of graduation pressure

These are only a few things I can list without going too far into my personal life.

(#10 is the only thing I can find particularly for ENTJ in relation to gender expectations in my family and most other people where I live)

My final verdict and realization turned out to be ENTJ. (Still feels strange to admit that, though...)

But how? I’m still very socially introverted, but I had come to realize that my functional focus and energy is primarily external. Social intro/extraversion are not how intro/extraverted functioning get defined (unless positioning of F functions have to do with the social/human aspect of I vs. E). So, that gets the big “what the heck” part out of the way.

External energies do seem to be my reign of life, but bad habits like lack of sleep and other body-related issues can make this energy feel limited a lot of the time. That’ll happen to any human being for different reasons.

During the days I had a good night’s rest though? Honestly, I feel as though I end up with infinite motivation! Then I end up using my motivation to where it makes me lose sleep again because I stay up late trying to use up that energy... And the cycle continues. I’m still working on that. Ugh.

That’s the best I can explain this in a tiny summary and list. I have no idea how to elaborate more without making this an essay. (I already was trying to write a small “essay” to explain more, but it got frustrating and too time-consuming. It’s scrapped. So, this is all I’m giving for right now. Be thankful!)

Could you do a kibbe and essence of Lee Hiyori? She’s changed quite a bit from her time as a singer in the 2000s to now, interested to see how her fashion style has changed to accommodate the different fashion eras?

I’m happy you brought her up because I took Hyori off my list of typed idols. I originally typed Lee Hyori as DC. This was the common belief among kibbe enthusiasts because her face and body read as classic, with a hint of crispness/angularity. Looking at her, she seems moderate, not petite or vertical.

However, this is where we remember that kibbe is not body science, it’s a typing system based on old Hollywood archetypes. A newly verified SD, Saloma, is 5’0, because she has the energy of a SD and isn’t overwhelmed by yang-associated clothes. With Lee Hyori it’s the same. She looks C-fam, but in her career (mainly as she’s developed as a soloist--note her iconic Stylish E and Hyorish styling) she gives down to earth, cool girl energy, aka N-fam. She’s experimented with different looks, but I find her ongoing vibe is so SN, like, I almost never see her in tailored/tightly fitted clothing, and her beachy wavy hair is *chefs kiss*. She shows that an SN can carry width/voluminous fabrics while looking relatively moderate or petite. (though I've noticed width in her upper body/ribcage) In her persona I don’t see ‘Haute Powerhouse’ (DC) that’s partially what it comes down to. So before when I said she has natural essence (I believe she does) part of that was her being SN. Looking in hindsight, it seems so obvious now. So many of her photoshoots are prime SN, like, she has the it-girl bombshell SN aura. She's also good inspo for SNs who like dark colours and edgier styles. I see her as a dark autumn in the colour typing system.

I don’t think essences change for most people—maybe your secondary essence? But she’s always given natural essence, very free and boho-chic. Not sure what her secondary essence would be. Maybe Dramatic.

Working on these profiles and can’t wait to post my Game of Thrones/A Song of Fire and Ice typings. Yes, I believe that they are the same personality in the show as the books. I just think the books make their perspective clearer than watching in third person. I am currently on a Dance of Dragons, so the official typings are coming soon. Some of our favorites will stay the same and others are changing types. Which ones will they be?? I’m so excited!!

I have also been continuing working on an old project of MBTI and the hogwarts houses. Summer goals! Get the content to the people!

What prompted you to retype Thor from an esfj to an esfp? Which parts of the original typing did you end up reconsidering and why? Thanks

His lack of social obligation. He does not want the throne and won’t shoulder that. His spirit is more independent and he is more comfortable in the role of hero than as a monarch. He is pretty functionally healthy and an ESFJ in his position would consider the needs of the people, his role, etc in the decision making process. It isn’t that he doesn’t care about these factors, but they weren’t part of his decision making. His was far more independent and based on his own experiences rather than social role or relationship based obligations.

His brother Loki, who I have typed as ENFJ, is Fe dominant like an ESFJ. He does take social status and roles very seriously. Although he may seem cold and therefore many may not see him as a feeler, his focus is on social definitions. Of status, role, etc. This was the first indicator to me to start reevaluating Thor’s type.

Thor is also not a structured character. He is reactionary to what is currently happening to him. This is dominant Se. The Fi is evident in his judging and decision making process as described above. He is still considerate of others and wants to help, but he does try to evade his own duty and obligations.

Pondering...

It is interesting getting better at typing and looking back. In case you wonder why retypes happen, it is because I keep learning more. As I look back I find the error of some of my ways. 

Sometimes time and distance helps me see a character more objectively as well.

The worst is how someone argues against my typing of a character, but they do it so poorly I don’t even think they could be right for a second. Then they are, but it isn’t for the reasons they stated. 

It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth out of spite, but I know my pride isn’t worth being wrong for. So I retype the character. Cause at the end of the day, that is the fun part! The ego just doesn’t matter.
