has anyone talked about noel gallagher’s summer 2023 playlist???
theres an awful lot of we should get together type songs on this that definitely sound like valid reunion clues in retrospect. but none more than the first track:
let’s get together over a glass of champagne
see that noel story about oasis’s rider as a bottle of champagne and him and liam racing backstage to drink it before the rest of the band finished i am the walrus.
black sabbath’s it’s alright hits as a noel comfort melody in my head
donald byrd tasteeee who recced him those horns
ann peebles’ i can’t stand the rain is just a class song but also fitting breakup song
johnny thunders cover of do you love me i swear i wrote about noel being fueled by spite and quoted this song exactly okay maybe it was how do you like me now anyway
clapton’s easy now: do you think it inspired council skies’ easy now? title aside it seems like a case of opposites. i gotta say i prefer noel’s this one’s depressing but noel’s flies.
UNKLE’s do yourself some good: gotta get together
the left bank’s desiree: everything returns again
denny laine’s say you don’t mind is not available in america on spotify but it reminded me to get a copy it’s one of my favorites from him. a reminder on the history he wrote it just after quitting the moody blues: i realize in your eyes i’ve been some kind of fool; a sign to get back and think up some better lines
mott the hopple’s roll away the stone 🤝 open the door see what you find
i blame this playlist for getting tangled up in blue stuck in my head for 72 hours straight
lovin’ spoonful’s daydream could be noel’s theme song but i also hear some of flying on the ground
the shirelles baby it’s you someone was listening to beatles influences after get back don’t leave me alone come back home
drifters’ please staaaayyyyy don’t goooo painfully clear as a divorce song sorry i laughed but points cause drifters are timeless
two songs from shack’s 1999 album when they toured with oasis. their drummer just died in 2022.
ng putting where theres smoke theres fire on a playlist in summer 2023 now i know for a fact he was having fun with this
the saints’ im stranded A++ but of course i’m thinking about it as a complement to stranded on the wrong beach
odd choice that makes more sense when you see the artist list: gorilla guerilla. among the contributors are zak starkey and andy bell.
