Joaquim Silva takes split decision over Claudio Puelles!
Fun fight! Puelles came in trying to blanket Silva, take him down and work for the submission. Did also manage to hurt SIlva too on the feet, but in the 2nd round he eats a teep kick up the middle that just hurts him visibly. Has to fight to see the end of the round. Puelles controls much of the third but eats a left hook on a prolonged pocket exchange and goes down hard. Survives to see the bell but those big moments swing the fight to Silva.
Gonna take some time. Back for CDF-Hernandez.
FINAL POV RESULTS
All four of you competed in the final competition of the season, and now it's time to see who truly knows this game inside and out...
Louise, with a time of 33:19 has not won the POV.

With a time of 31:07, you have, unfortunately, not won the POV.
Which means congraulations Brian, with an impressive time of 18:00, you have won the final Power of Veto!
Your decision is due by Tuesday, September 2 at 11 PM EST.
If you decide not to use it, I would also like your vote to evict by then.
Good night, houseguests!
Don't be upset with the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do.
Results of Mini-Social Experiment
Finally the results of the mini-social experiment I outlined last week are in, and the verdict is mixed.
Alas no one is turning vegan/vegetarian, but I have recieved some kind emails and support from my colleagues.
One lady (no names to be mentioned) wrote:
I really admire your fight against cruelty on animals as you know I am a genuine animal lover.
Forgive me if I cannot attend to share with you the fruits of your efforts as I cannot stand such scenes (between you and me I don’t like to show the weak side of myself J ).
Yet, I can share with you a piece of info that might be of help.
It is about the reason why Australia does not export any living animals to Egypt (only frozen).
A smart photographer who was done lecturing to people who would not listen or feel took photos and videos as an evidence to cruelty against animals in Egypt and sent them to Australia, the decision was taken and is valid until present that Australia exports to Egypt ONLY FROZEN meat as an act against their actions.
So, if you can be a part of the same thing, know people who can deliver the message so that those sweet innocent creatures would not be exported to countries where they do not treat them as they should, this can be the end of such cruelty. Because unlike you, me, and others similar to us, the ones who are capable of doing such actions do not feel, and cannot be convinced by reason as we can.
So the only action that can be done is by punishing them moneywise and not export those innocent creatures to their countries.
I hope the above could be useful to you and that we can do a similar thing.
One person said that they thought that killing was a natural, normal way of life. I totally agree that killing for survival or consumption on an individual level is ok. But the fact is that society has evolved and the system as such is (excuse me) fucked up. Mass production has dehumanised our natural hunter-consumer relationship and we need to evolve and adapt to it.
Another person said they dont make a connection between what they see and what they eat. And that's totally ok. Everyone is entitled to their individual experience of life. Dissonance is also a wonderful little psychological trick that helps us live life in the most pragmatic, unconcerned terms. I experience it when watching violent films for example.
Yet another individual mentioned that culling is important and human beings play an important role in this. A reasonable argument except that we only have a population problem because we inflate the population artificially. An interesting point is that several people kept defending ritual slaughter in their religion. I dont want to argue this point because people are usually unreasonable when it comes to their religion. Maybe what they should ocnsider is that regardless of what the rule is, slaughter is done by people. People tend to mess up, especially where money is involved. And that's all I'm going to say about ritual slaughter because I understand that faith cannot be argued with. And I dont want to be condescending to a culture, simply because I've had a more international upbringing.
One person actually said that its ok to eat meat because in Sweden, they use anesthetics to sedate animals before slaughtering them. Besides the fact that this person is stubborn and acts tough - I thought her argument here was just plain moronic. Governments are run by people, people kill the animals. In a large mass-produced system, people fuck up. Its normal. Last time I checked people in Sweden were not more evolved that people elsewhere. I think that maybe they needed to say this to feel better about complicit involevnment in (what I can only describe as) horror. But man, I was pissed.
I do not, underscore DO NOT believe it is possible or cost-efficient to create a cruelty-free system for the mass slaughter of animals. Therefore, it is our role as the most powerful beings on this planet to take responsibility and care for those who dont have a voice. By giving up meat.
And if you dont, at least acknowledge that you are participating in a systematic torture instead of denying it when there is clear evidence before you. In a way I admire a colleague who admitted he thought it was cruel but chose to continue eating meat anyway. At least he accepts the guilt that comes with swallowing the blood. Personally, I cant live with that guilt. But maybe I'm weak and he isnt.
While no one else is converting, and most were vehemently opposed to veganism despite being exposed to the film, I think that conversion is besides the point. I personally dont care that no one is interested in being vegan.
I care that they think critically about the source of their food. Because we really are what we eat.
