Khadeh's and @daysofauldlangsyne's Nikida's Revanite field trip
Going through the Rishi parts of Shadow of Revan again and I wonder who these people are that the Revanites had frozen in carbonite? Were they people that learned of the conspiracy but were somehow important enough to keep alive and not just kill or make disappear outright? And if so, what makes someone important enough that the Revanites want to keep them around? Makes me think of G0-T0 discussing the Jedi Civil War in KOTOR 2 and how Revan deliberately kept the infrastructure of the Republic intact for his post-war plans. Did Revan deem these people instrumental to the infrastructure of the galaxy for his post-Emperor plans?
I'm just really curious who these people are
And here I thought showing up at the Revanites’ front door in my Revan cosplay would make my appearance quite obvious but whatever, Dzoun.
Bonus under the cut:
Revanites at large
Playing through the Tatooine planetary arc again has me thinking: how many of the NPCs we meet, as we go along, are actually Revanites? And of those, how many veer away vs. staying with Revan’s new vision? (after all on Dromund Kaas we’re told that the Revanite leader, Lord Darkspanner, thinks that Revan is actually the Emperor. By the time Revan shows up, the priority shifts to kill the Emperor and both factions)
Darth Silthar, for instance. He has to be a Revanite.
He’s on Tatooine looking for an ancient source of power that happens to be from the Rakata. Which is admittedly something that a lot of people would seek, and based on what various NPCs say in the game, the average person even in academic circles knows little to nothing of the Rakta. But considering Revan’s link to Rakatan technology, it’s an interesting coincidence. And then there’s this line:
Caption Darth Silthar: I know your master. Perhaps we can find common ground. Which again, innocuous, but the Revanites were all about finding common ground to work together and seeing the Force as more than dark and light absolutes and so on. Oh, and he’s wearing Revan’s armor.
There are a number of other NPCs along the way who are wearing circles and a few other things that figure into Revanite symbols, and I am going to try to note them if and when I see them again.
Kira is into cool looking starships
I think separately about Revanites and Order of Revan.
Revanites are those nice people who wanted to change Empire from withing who had a leader with crazy conspiracy theory, but were ultimately non-harmful. While Order of Revan is this bunch of people I used to know, who suddenly decided to follow a person who claimed to be Revan and didn’t even second check if it was really him or didn’t make any fact checking considering his goals and the teachings and goals they were previously following. I am sorry, but I am so fed up with the idea that I have to murder Revanities, because they went with this crazy guy, who if writers of the storyline were better at their job would be an Impostor and not true Revan at all, and I have 0 ability to reason with them and tell them they are following someone else and persuade them to join me and stop the Impostor before he taints the idea of our secret society even more.
Just occurred to me. When you’re doing Death and Life in the Order of Revan questline on Dromund Kaas. The one where you go in the cave to meditate at Revan’s shrine and get shocked unconscious.
Who carried you back?
You could make a case for a Revanite hiding in the bushes and collecting you afterwards, but its much easier to think your companion hauled you back.
Which is fine if it’s Khem Val. Kaliyo might have some trouble, but would probably just leave you there and tell the Revanites to got get you.
But Mako or Vette? Those are some teeny tiny girls. If you’re playing a big boy/girl that’s gonna be a problem.
I can just see them struggling to drag their Sith Warrior/Bounty Hunter, through the mud, back down the hill grumbling angrily under their breath the whole way.
