7. what's your favorite way to travel? Is there a mode of travel you haven't done that you want to experience?

Oh hm, I think that would be travel by train? Or in an ideal world where the train company here wasn't complete shit! I like trains especially when i don't have to change trains or when i have a loottttt of time and don't need to worry about catching the next train. Trains are usually more spacious than buses, and i get nauseous less often on trains :)

I've never traveled by horse carriage but i guess i'm around 110 years too late for that... not sure i want to try that, though, i don't assume it's toooo comfortable. But maybe for a little trip? (sorry, been watching The Other Bennet Sister and it seems to have taken over my brain). Also I've never really traveled by bike, or just hiking, like for several days, but a part of me would like to do that sometime.

8. favorite month of the year and why?

Oh, ah, ugh huhhhhhhhh. That's such a hard question, because every year is different and i don't have any particular celebrations that i love that are in a particular month... Maybe April and October? Ideally both these months should have kind of temperate temperatures and I usually have some free time in these months :)

17. do you believe in luck and superstition? Do you carry any lucky items or follow any lucky rules?

I do believe in luck but I wouldn't say I'm superstitious. But it's funny bc the topic of luck vs. destiny came up recently in a bunch of my thoughts and convos. I don't think I carry any lucky items, but i usually wear necklaces bc it feels right. Right now I'm wearing a moon necklace that a friend, who always wears a sun necklace, gave to me, but that's not a good luck charm more of a way to feel connected to her. One thing I do (and did recently) is that I cross my fingers when i want someone to be lucky (sometimes when watching basketball for example), and most recently i did it during my choir concert when the other soloists were singing. I would just cross my fingers and wish them all the best.

Currently reading: Understanding Comics, by Scott McCloud. It's a really thoughtful look at the art form of comics, and it's so fascinating to learn about all the invisible parts of the art that I never knew about. Twas a birthday gift from @anniezard!

Last series: I'm guessing this means "last series I watched"? Last night, I finished watching season 4 of Food Wars with Ash. Food Wars is our fun brain-off anime. It's fun, and goofy, and the food itself is beautiful. It's great if you tune out the ecchi.

Last film: Oh god uhhhh I think it was when I saw Predator: Badlands in cinema? That was a shockingly good movie. I watched it for Elle Fanning, whom I loved in The Great, and Ash and I even watched Predator '87, a first-time viewing for me, to prepare. I really enjoyed seeing the subversion of '80s action heroes in that, so imagine my surprise when Predator Badlands was a movie about your real family being the friends you made along the way, and still feeling like a Predator movie! Absolutely incredible.

Last song: I don't know specifically exactly what song I last listened to, but lately I've been enjoying Something About You by Lucius. It's got such interesting chords and key changes! And the layering, wow. Those big synths are so wild and fun, but also the way each verse slowly builds up its instrumentation is really fun to listen to.

Sweet or salty: Salt salt salt, give me salt. I like sweetness, sure, but I like salt in my sweetness too. And in everything else.

Coffee or tea: Depends on the year, really! I'll go a year drinking nothing but coffee, then suddenly feel like tea and drink only that. I'm not a picky drinker - as long as it's Moccona-quality or better, I'm fine with it. Cafe coffee is wasted on me. Same with tea, I don't really care, but I love earl grey if I can get it.

Currently working on: Rev - (p)rev? haha - I thought it was really interesting that you listed self-growth stuff as well as creations, so I'll do that too. I've been working on doing less, I suppose. I've got a bad habit of overreaching - I push myself hard cause I think I have to, then hurt my body, need to recuperate, and push myself again. Now I've reached the point where it's turned into a disability, and I'm well and truly forced to spend almost all day sitting down, with breaks for physio. And it sucks. Anyone reading this whose body hasn't given out yet: please learn how to not push yourself so hard you injure yourself. You'll think "oh, but I have to!" and then you'll be in your thirties and unable to get out of bed for the pain.

On nicer topics, I'm mostly working on telling my stories! Jemjammer is going well, I had a great recording session this past weekend. And I'm having a great time with my latest Arma series, the Fourth Corporate War. I need to post some of my videos for that. Oh and I made a website! Finally! It's real simple, but I'm so tired of people asking what podcasts I've been on and not having a central list. It's at https://palindrome.au/

Next thing I want to work on is my creative writing, but it's currently taking a backseat to my interactive stories.

43: Do I believe in magic?

Oh, I wish I could! I have spent my entire life desperately wishing for the existence of some kind of mystical powers that could make life better. Started with Catholicism, I had perfect faith. Complete and utter belief. Later, witchcraft. Now? I'm afraid not. There's just no good reason to! Either magic doesn't exist, or I cannot interact with it in any meaningful way and therefore it might as well not exist. And more than anything else, I cannot in good faith believe in something there is no concrete proof of.

53: What is my favorite word?

Ooh, I have lots. Iridescence. Toxicity. Recalcitrant. Words that move between the front and back of your mouth. Hard consonants around sibilance. They feel good in the mouth.

87: What I’d do if I won in a lottery

Depends on how much. Let's presume it's a net 1 million AUD, after tax and other fees. Not enough to change my social class, but certainly enough to change my life.

I'm disabled and poor, so I have to be careful. I don't want to end up poorer than when I started. Priorities are stabilising my future, then quality of life in the present, and then achieving longterm desires, then frivolities. First I go straight to an accountant and ask them to help me get set up with this. How can I basically set myself up so I can afford to live through retirement? If they get me sorted, I'll pretty much do whatever they say. If they don't say to dump it all into superannuation, if I do bespoke investment, then there might be disposable income coming off that. If so, then I use that income to fix what I can around the house. My bed, office chair, and car all need replacing or fixing. I'd get some repairs done around the house. Do things my disabilities prevent, like setting up the cat netting out back of the house. Maybe get some chooks. Then, assuming there's still disposable income, I deal with longterm stuff. I buy my mother the car she's wanted since she was my age. I go visit @aelwen and @robotslenderman, both of whom I've known for a longer portion of my life than I haven't, but whom I've scarcely met in person. Get some gender-affirming stuff sorted, get some disability aids. Finally I do the little things for myself. Take music and language lessons. Fix up my computer. Stuff like that. Then I set up some recurring donations and hope I live long enough to comfortably retire. If that process isn't an option, then I portion off a fraction to try and achieve a few fixes and longerms, portion off another fraction for some donations, and then dump the rest into my superannuation. And if I'm not allowed to put it into super, if I have to spend it, then I do the same until it's gone. ... As it turns out, spending your life living in poverty gives you a lot of time to think about these things!

Battle Kitchen

It’s been a while!

After I found out Latch is an unlockable character in Cook, Serve, Delicious! and saw that the game had a background that was ripe for making a stage out of, I just had to bust out photoshop and try to make a stage out of the Battle Kitchen. I had a lot of fun coming up with things to add to the stage, like the ‘recipe’ box thats shown in C,S,D! added to the eclipse version of the stage. This mod also includes a track from the game, though I shortened it so it loops better. Since Sewers is Latch’s level, Battle Kitchen replaces it.

After finding out about Latch in another game I have to ask, where’s all the fan art of Latch as a chef??

Jaw Breakers 2015 Swag!

This is my reward for placing 3rd in Jaw Breakers 2015, Lethal League's first official tournament. It included a hat signed by the developers of the game (plus one intern at my request,) two business cards and a letter from the developers congratulating me and thanking me for playing the game. This is so awesome! I'm not even sure I'll wear the hat, unless I know I'll run into Tim and Dion at a convention or something. This made my month, love these guys and love the game.

AKA Jawbreaker What got you into Lethal League?

“A longtime internet friend of mine, GrandmaGrimm, is solely responsible for getting me into the game. She was looking for someone to play the game with and at the time I didn't own Lethal League or even heard of it, so I bought it on a whim so we could play against each other. I was instantly hooked.”

Who is your favorite character?

“Candyman without a doubt. He's my favorite by far, so much so that I changed my Steam handle to Jawbreaker in homage to the tap-dancing dandy.”

What is your favorite map?

“That's a good question. They're all great but if I'd have to choose it would be Abandoned Pool.”

Who do you hope most to face in the tournament?

“Shffl | N64. His Sonata is insane and it's always a fun, crazy match when I'm up against him.”

Who are you most afraid to face in the tournament?

“Tixl. He really upped his game and developed a playstyle with Switch that's tough for me to counter. A switch flip from him usually means death.”

What are some other games you play?

“Duck Game, Risk of Rain, Halo and Battlefield, just to name a few.”
