A doctor studying infectious diseases, Florent has been tasked with investigating illnesses caused by inner demons. Whilst contracted by Fenix from his hospital, his loyalty lies with his patients first and foremost.

Splitting his time between Japan and Canada growing up, Florent knew he wanted to be a doctor at a young age. An antisocial child, he was able to put all of his attention into his studies.

Florent graduated from Queen's University with honours, completing his medical degree before returning to Japan to work in his specialty field; infectious disease. Despite his accomplishments, Florent is just happy to give patients a new lease on life.

He credits his family with his success but hasn't spoken to them in many years, spending more nights pulling doubles at the hospital than seeing the inside walls of his home.

Florent is a quiet man, shy almost. He isn't very social and it leaks into his interactions with those around him. He is far more likely to let his skill speak for him than his words. Despite this, patients seem to trust him, as he'll put them first above all else. Florent lacks a general understanding of social contracts, and is as a result somewhat offputting to those around him.

He loves his job though; taking any opportunity to further his research. While he doesn't particularly enjoy being contracted out to Fenix, he does his job with utmost care. When Fenix's true colours were eventually revealed, it devastated Florent to know his work was used for evil. As penance, he put forth as much effort as possible into treating those affected by the resulting battles.

With the closure of Fenix and Weekend being dismantled, Florent has returned to his position at Koyama Hospital. Though, he occasionally volunteers to work in the medical bay of Blue Bird whenever they're short staffed. He prefers overworking to underworking, even if it leaves him exhausted and too busy for anything else.

Florent's inner demon, Lux was born from Florent's desire for a friend. As a lonely child with a large age gap between his siblings and him, Lux acted as his "imaginary friend" in childhood.

A lover of foxes, Lux took on a vulpine and humanoid figure to put a young Florent at ease. Though Florent lost the ability to see him as he grew older, chalking his existence up to childhood imagination, Lux's existence as a demon bound him to his host, leaving Lux to watch him at all times.

Lux represents the light that Florent represses within himself. His imagination, joy, childish whimsy, love. While he was formed by Florent's malicious energy, Lux holds none within himself, instead only Florent does.

It wasn't until well into the appearance of demons did Lux make his presence known again. Having long since gained the ability to subtly guide Florent's actions, the dangerous situation arising around them had the inner demon finding himself needing to use this ability more often.

Always missing moments as is, Florent barely noticed these intrusions. But they were noticed by his colleague. And it was this colleague, Yasuda Osamu, who designed a special stamp to be able to release Lux. The fox vistamp, based on Florent's fox bracelet.

Lux is everything that Florent isn't, a constant smiling amiable presence. If it weren't for his inhuman appearance, some could call into question which of the two fits the demon moniker more. But such comments don't fly with Lux anyways, the demon being almost aggressively protective of Florent.

Here’s some more Kamen Rider stuff!! But this time it’s Kamen Rider Revice! Specifically the demons.

One is where I worked with the concept of bugs, robots, and gambling, why? Because I see it as something interesting- totally not based off of a YouTuber. Anyway, decided that the sketchy one is his first form when he first formed, insanity is formed due to virus getting killed and while reforming, some scientists decided to pull him out before he was ready and so insanity was formed. The proper reference sheet of Virus is his current look in the role-play that me and my friend are doing.

The cat blanket demon. This one’s body shape is obvious Lovekov’s- I just love that shape so much!! My friend and I haven’t gotten to that part of the story yet where we flush out this one’s character but we’re getting there!

nemesis: what kind of child was your oc? were they taken seriously? were they cared for? do they wish their childhood was different?

Florent definitely didn't have it easy. There was a lot of expectation put on him at a young age. And both his parents were so busy, he was often left to his own devices. He doesn't really talk about his childhood for a reason. If things were different, he likely wouldn't be here. So he tries not to dwell on it.

palladion: does your oc keep up with the changing times? trends, changes in their environment, and the like? are they more old fashioned, or do they like changing often?

I mean.. Florent doesn't really pay attention? When it comes to trends or the like, he doesn't care. But he's not old fashioned, he just sticks to what he likes. When it comes to medicine and politics and I don't know, his neighborhood building a new park, yeah he keeps up with it. He doesn't mind change, change can be good. It can also be bad! And when change is bad, he likes to organize.

athena: is your oc human? humane? if not, do they wish they were? what exactly is it that makes them "other"? could they ever be human? does it matter?

It is regularly joked that between him and his demon, Florent is the one who isn't human. He isn't a bad person who warrants the title of 'demon', but he simply just isn't personable. Not in the way others are, humans should be. His attire makes him standout, his monotone voice makes him standout, his ethnicity, his accent, his gender. So many things make him "othered" and people hate that Florent doesn't care.

kala-nemi: has your oc experienced grief? loss? what have they gained from it? what did it take from them?

Florent thinks he's had it pretty easy, moving around a lot, minimal friends. He doesn't really think about the little losses, the constant losing of contact with others, the fleeting friendships, never really sticking in one place, never having a 'home'. Florent was lonely. Really really lonely. It let others take advantage of him at times, but they were never around long enough for him to even remember their faces. He gained quite a bit of memory loss.

Later on he proceeds to lose a lover and genuinely loses it, he is NOT built for withstanding that sort of pain. Like a dam breaking.

psyche: are there any traits your oc has that they resent about themself? any part of themself they hate? why? can it be helped?

His voice probably. He hates the pitch, the tone, how monotone it is. He's not a fan of it. But it's his voice and no amount of voice training really stuck for him, plus it didn't really change what he wanted changed.

Lux was never a child. He was sort of always a vaguely older figure. An imaginary friend to Florent as a child. Florent loved him dearly, cared for him like no other, emotionally clung to him. Lux was necessary for Florent's development, his only friend.

It's always on that damn computer. It loves watching online trends and challenges, gets a kick out of whatever the humans are up to. It's sort of always paying attention, it likes the change.

Not human at all, he doesn't even look human, I mean he has huge ears and two tails. Lux doesn't think it matters at all, really. Sometimes demons are necessary, and he is one such example. He doesn't really care how others feel about him.

Not exactly. But it can feel Florent's grief and pain. When it became an unseen force as Florent grew older, it could feel all of his pain, and did its best to suppress it. To protect him. When Kagero is "killed", it is separated from Florent when they learn of the news, and even then it is able to feel the extent of Florent's grief. Lux doesn't really gain or lose anything, it just *feels* it.

psyche: are there any traits your oc has that they resent about themself? any part of themself they hate? why? can it be helped?

His nature, perhaps. To always be a parasitic edition to his host. But he doesn't really truly hate it, resentful a little maybe. But he ultimately doesn't mind too much. Lux isn't insecure at all, he is who he is. Others either have to accept that, or leave. Those are the choices he presents.
