Revising first-draft dialogue
Me: *to my writing buddy/one dependable beta reader* Okay, I've got the first third of that epic thing I’m working on done. I should really get it shaped up as much as possible before moving on, so I know where my characters are mentally before jumping into the next arc.
Her: Yeah, that would be a good idea.
Me: Right then. I don’t really need to fix typoes and such at this stage because the whole thing will probably get another rewrite from scratch, but if you could give me some ideas on pacing, scenes we could add, what’s working, what’s not, that’d be great! So, yeah - HAVE AT!
- Two Days Later -
Her: You have a typo here. Oh and another one. And oops! Extra space there! Gonna wanna correct that!
Me: ................................I’d ask if you could stop being an absolute Virgo for five fucking seconds, but the answer is kinda painfully obvious.
So fucking bored of mindless PACES revision...
Revision and exams are killing me right now, and I have no energy 😞😰
