Hello to everyone who’s interested in my recent Meulin thoughts! Here’s a little update for you:

The essay pertaining to Meulin’s status as a “Softcore Fujoshi” is going well. It’s quite meaty, and goes over a good deal of technical stuff. I realized that since these aren’t incredibly common terms nowadays, and since some of the cultural context is probably lost on a lot of younger individuals… I should most likely define Important/Relevant Terminology, and why these Words and Concepts tend to get a rather sour reaction from people- especially Queer men.

It’s taking a while to write, though, because I’m really out here having to define shit like “Uke” and “Seme” in 2022, and recounting a lot of this shit from memory is… Taxing.

The amount of discourse surrounding “Fujoshis” is unreal. It’s been a hot fucking iron for so long. There’s the “Pro-Fujoshi,” who often say that some of the hatred towards Fujoshis is based in Misogyny, and then people who lean more “Anti-Fujoshi,” who say that Fujoshis are inherently Homophobic.

Here’s my vague contribution to that point of conversation…

i feel like people need to worry a lot less about their interests being "problematic". there are still some medias i find kinda gross but as long as u arent a weirdo or a proshipper/comshipper or something, why be bothered over someone elses morals? im here for a fun piece of media, not the personal opinions of the company/individual behind it... unless those opinions are somehow baked into the media, why worry so much?
