Happy Black Friday
Cuba is paying tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, with many tributes dedicated to remembering his legacy on the third anniversary of his physical passing.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said: "How to remember Fidel? Assuming his legacy as ours, confronting imperialism with courage and firmness, working and thinking for the people, fighting for a better world.”
On the steps of the University of Havana, the University Student Federation, the Young Communist League, and people from all walks of life will participate in a political and cultural evening to remember Fidel.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people held pilgrimages to the patrimonial Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago de Cuba, where his ashes are interred.
According to data provided by the management of the necropolis, during the three years since his passing, more than 1.8 million people have visited Santa Ifigenia to express in the most different ways their respect and admiration for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
June 14, 1928: Birthday of comrade Che Guevara, a leader of the Cuban Revolution who became a global symbol of internationalism, anti-imperialism and the struggle for socialism.
With each passing year, Che's example becomes more relevant: his flexibility of tactics and firmness of principle, his commitment to continue learning and expanding the scope of the class struggle, his determination to keep the masses in motion rather than seeing a revolution as a one-time event.Hasta siempre, comandante!
Andrew and I took a roadtrip to Killingly, CT yesterday to find his ancestors from the Revolutionary War!
"Aviva Chomsky, a professor at Salem State College, states that "Early studies in California and in the Southwest and in the Southeast...have come to the same conclusions. Immigrants, legal and illegal, are more likely to pay taxes than they are to use public services. Illegal immigrants are not eligible for most public services and live in fear of revealing themselves to government authorities. Households headed by illegal immigrants use less than half the amount of federal services that households headed by documented immigrants or citizens make use of." #The #Revoutionary #Socialist #Veritism #Truth #Love #Movement
