Reward Apps for 2020
Ready to make some easy cash?
I’ve been a fan of reward apps for the longest time. They’re ways I can earn a little side dough for minimal effort. Some apps reward in straight cash, meaning money in your bank account. Others reward in the form of gift cards, which when you think about it is also great because hey, you have groceries to buy, right? So let’s dive in to some of the apps I use on the daily. I’ll give you pros and cons, but all of them share one universal pro: ITS MONEY YOU CURRENTLY DON’T HAVE. Let’s get started, k?
Ibotta: Ibotta rewards its users for purchasing certain products at certain grocery stores. You find the items you’ve bought, scan your receipt, and you’re good to go! Some items are worth $0.10, like milk, while others are worth a little more, like wine and beer, and can be worth up to $1.00. Once you reach $20.00 in item scans, you can redeem for gift cards. These gift cards include Amazon, Best Buy, Target, IHOP, and soooo many other options. I like this app because its rewarding me for things I was going to buy anyways. It’s a little slow to redeem, depending on how many times you buy groceries. For me, I get a $20 gift card every 4-5 months. Hey, better than nothing, right? If you choose to download this app, use my code iupftfn and earn a little bonus when you scan your first receipt!
SurveyMini: This is one of the EASIEST apps to use for money. The whole point of this app is not take up too much of your time. The concept is that you turn on your location services for this app, and it’ll track where you go. Every now and then you’ll get a survey about one of the places you’ve visited. Complete the survey, and you get anywhere from 100 - 500 points. The best part? All surveys are only 11 multiple choice questions! Rewards start at about the 4,000 point mark, and you get rewarded with gift cards to restaurants, stores, etc. I use this app for gift cards to Marshall’s and restaurants (hello, weekend savings!) The turnaround for this app for me is about a month for a $25 gift card. Not bad for being the app I put the least effort into.
Fetch Rewards: Remember Ibotta? Well, same thing, lol. Who knew you could make so much extra dough from a trip to Target! After you scan that receipt at Ibotta, head over to Fetch Rewards and scan the same receipt, you’ll be rewarded with anywhere from 25 - 1,000 points depending on what you bought and how much you spent. This app has SO MANY options for redeeming that I won’t even bother to name them all or try to. Turnaround time is about a month for a $10 gift card to an endless amount of places and stores. If you choose to download this app, use my code E6RRY and earn an extra 2,000 points when you scan your first receipt!
Velocia: This is for my Miami, FL folks! Velocia has arrived and is ready to help you save SO. MUCH. MONEY on Uber, Lyft, Citi Bike, and other things you use to avoid driving anywhere in our super congested city. Velocia rewards you with “velos” for walking, riding the MetroRail, carpooling, and more. Answer a 1-question survey everyday for 20 velos, walk 5 miles a week and earn 300 velos, the list goes on. Starting at 1,200 velos, you can start redeeming them for Lyft promo codes! They also have Uber credits, Citi Bike credits, Bolt credits, and so on. If you do nothing else except answer their survey everyday and walk 5 miles a week, you can earn enough for $10 in Lyft every month. If you choose to download this app, earn 600 velos just for using my referral link. That’s half way to a $10 Lyft credit!
Guys, one of these apps getting you one gift card a month is more than what you currently have/do. They all require minimal effort on your part and when done right do not affect your daily lives AT ALL. What are you waiting for?! Let’s make that extra dough.
Love, V.
CheckPoints
I’ve been needing a new app. I didn’t want to download another game, and I’ve been curious about apps that claim you can make money by using them. After a bit of researching and browsing, I chose to download CheckPoints yesterday.
The premise of the app is that it allows you to earn points, the currency which you then trade in for rewards and prizes. There are a few different methods to earn points, but the main focus is on two; watching videos and scanning items.
The videos *cough*ads*cough only get you one point for about 2-3 minutes of video. I just connected my phone to our wifi at home, and let them run on while I played Ni No Kuni on my PS3. I did this for maybe an hour or two before work and got about 30-40 points.
Scanning items has a bigger payout, about 15-20 points per item. You check-in with the app, and it locates nearby businesses with scanable items. Bigger stores have more items, netting you more points, but even my local pharmacy and dollar stores had an item or two. I earned about 250 points from the store I work at. Working retail at a large chain store definitely helps, as I can easily scan something almost every day.
Other app features for points include: Check-in - Check in at a nearby location App testing - I havent tried this yet Slot Machine - Gamble for the jackpot, 12 points a spin Refer-A-Friend - Use BONUS CODE: LANIFEIBOR for double earned points the first two weeks!
So what can I get for my 300 points? Nothing. A $1 Wal*Mart gift card costs 340. Staying at this pace means in 10 days, I’ll have 3000 points, which kind of rounds up to the $10 gift card. I’m sure I could make $20-30 a month using this app. More so if I’m ambitious. Oh, have I mentioned to use the code LANIFEIBOR for extra points when you download the app?
So far the app seems to be a good bet. I haven’t had any technical problems with it, even with my clunky old Galaxy S2. I would definitely recommend trying it out for yourself. And if you don’t like it after a day or two? Hey, at least you got a dollar in your pocket.
