Why Does Everyone Think They’re Married?
So like the whole Thing there is that people always assume Ten and Donna are a couple and this is HILARIOUS because... err... give me a moment, it’ll come to me.
Um.
Because you’re not *supposed* to ship these two, and people generally didn’t assume the ones you were meant to ship were a couple ooooh ironic? Maybe?
But I am very into it, and I reckon it’s because of stuff like this:
where the Davies-Era default level of friendship is shippy as heck and then when he’s doing romance on purpose his cynicism takes over a bit and makes it have horrible undercurrents of unrequited love and/or codependent toxicity. So the don’t-ship-them ones are incredibly close to each other and love each other and hug/touch/etc but I don’t have to deal with the nasty side that would come with them being a couple/wannabe-couple. It’s win-win!
no i’m not crying over kageyama i’m not pffft
Y’all remember when Iris had negative chill and try to marry Barry soon after a funeral service was finished. Turned the dead man’s picture around and told the priest to walk off his allergic reaction.
My girl was crazy that day, almost as crazy as her ass jumping off a building to save Barry. I love her so much. I’m also glad that Barry knows her ass is crazy and loves her anyway. And we all know he was gonna follow her lead and go through with it, regardless of how insane that moment was.
.
man, i forgot how much i miss king roan’s husky voice
Pidge's room had some of the fluffy trash things and the trash paladins too. Lol I totally called the junky room thing. :)
Partners in Crime (a rewatch)
Well this was a fun start to a very angsty season, hooray!
Bad things first (because not many): at least one character dies simply because they’re fat (urgh), SOMEONE clearly has issues with mothers, and what the heck did that journalist ever do to earn this episode’s contempt?
BUT OTHERWISE, I enjoyed this a lot and obviously the best bit is the miming sequence but there’s other good bits as well, It’s quite rom-com and it takes 22 minutes for our heros to be reunited. He’s forgotten that he invited her along last time, probably because he spent half of S3 telling Martha he wasn’t accepting new companions and he felt like an appalling hypocrite for that. Probably.
There’s quite a lot of foreshadowing here once you know what fucked-up shit happens to Donna at the end of the season: Donna laments that it’s as if she never even met the Doctor; it’s raining when she steps into the TARDIS (as it will be when she leaves WAAAHHHH); she’s dressed to mirror the Doctor; her blue car is parked right next to the TARDIS; they are sharing-a-brain enough that they don’t need words to communicate when they finally see each other across a crowded room an empty corridor.
Thing about Ten and Donna (and I will say this until everyone is sick of hearing it) is that the problems they encounter as a partnership are mostly external, unlike him and his previous companions there’s not internal tensions that are inevitably going to split them up. I suppose we should have guessed that it’d end with something pointlessly random and cruel-hand-of-fate (...oh shit it really was the hand of fate wasn’t it OH MA GAAAADDD I just got that)
They’re good for each other, and they’re close without being cliquey, and the horrible things that happen to them bring them closer together. Like when they had that traumatic experience in a Library and walked away hand-in-hand at the end.
I a bit love them. Okay I a lot love them. A LOT.
