Rewriting Reality
Writers often use to the power of stories to evoke feelings and create new worlds. Rewriting Reality is a form of magic where the invocation

It's something about a character becoming the writer of their own reality, sometimes knowingly, sometimes not, something about constructing your own narrative, something about possibly dooming others to one you have written without knowing it shapes reality. idk, it's just FUN.
Ai had always had a love of stories. For as long as he could remember he loved listening to them, reading them, watching them, and even playing them. His grade school years had been filled with an over active imagination that was constantly spun in a creative whirlwind of colorful worlds, creatures, and people. The older he got and the better at writing he became, the more he would write down his stories.
Shelves of journals filled with passages, notes and little sketches hidden in the margins of all the things he wished he could see. Wished he could experience. Lots of different types, genres, some with drama and tragedy but most…most he filled with love.
It didn’t have to be romantic – though there were certainly a lot of those, especially once he became a teenager – he was just as enamored with stories of platonic love. Familial love. Love of a character for their people, for their tribe. Love of nature and life. Love of music and art and an endless string of hyper fixations that he’d become obsessed with over the smallest thing.
An incredibly well written anime about ice skating with one of the most compelling couples he’d ever seen? MONTHS were spent learning and writing everything he could about the sport and those who competed. He had a whole kingdom designed around an ice witch whose main past time and recreation was ice skating and instead of ‘dances’ they would have skating routines and the most romantic thing you could ask someone was to be your skating partner.
A move about a quirky detective thrown into a mysterious death of a rich author who’s duplicitous family is scheming to overthrow his will? Bam, researching mystery books and writing styles that would allow for clues to be slipped in seamlessly without attention brought to them but still showing the reader crumbs they could find to solve the crime. His own mystery stories revolved around a genius teenage girl with a loving but exasperated uncle who followed her around while she solved crimes and he attempted to keep her safe and covering for her so that she wouldn’t get in trouble.
The point was, that Ai loved stories and loved love. He didn’t really understand why it meant so much to him. It wasn’t like he was abused or abandoned by his family. His life was normal, or at least uneventful. His family didn’t ignore him, but he always felt…distant from them somehow. Like there was an invisible barrier between them that he couldn’t understand or cross. His friends were the same way. They were nice. They went out and had fun together but…they felt empty somehow to him.
His stories always felt more real, more vibrant than the world around him and it was hard not to get pulled into them sometimes and forget everything else. They all meant so much to him, whether it be books or movies or his own stories, who’s characters felt like lifelong friends and family that were always there for him, always waiting for his return.
And his most favorite story was a game. An otome game, to be precise.
‘KISS KISS x Fall in Love’
It wasn’t the most well written or even the most creative, set in an absurdly rich school where the player was a scholarship student dragged into the extremely fleshed out and colorful group of the student council. There were multiple routes for each of the seven members with hidden routes that could be accessed by completing certain routes or earning certain unlockable events with different characters.
Their wacky hijinks and cutesy art maybe wasn’t what most would expect a teenage boy to obsess over but the characters were just so well written. He loved all of them. Yes, they were all handsome or cute – it was an otome game after all – but the writer made them so real with their personalities and backstories. How the characters interacted with one another and how the setting affected them and how they affected the setting. Secret nuggets of lore sprinkled throughout that would suddenly make aspects of the characters just click and make sense. A throw-away ‘trope’ that would get overlooked just because it was expected for an otome game had reason and purpose.
He had a whole set of notebooks documenting everything about the characters and their routes and snippets of information that led to bigger reveals. He spent hours devoted to the criminally small – in his opinion at least – fandom for the game sharing theories and fan written stories with others and gobbling up everything he could, even if he didn’t always agree with someone’s characterization. (He refused to think about Tamakisenpaisbitch_69 after that horrible multi-chapter travesty that she called a ‘proper ending’)
The point was that Ai adored KISS KISS and had played through every route, upgraded his character’s stats in every category possible, and spent his money on unlockable outfits just for specific CGs and gifts to give the characters on dates.
So when there was a sudden announcement out of nowhere from the company that made the game stating they were going to be releasing a sequel it was only expected that he would let out an uncontrollable squeal. He had to quickly slap his hand over his mouth as everyone on the train looked at him, but the embarrassment honestly only lasted a brief moment as he instantly dove back into his phone and began reading absolutely everything he could find about the announcement.
He was so engrossed that he only half paid attention as he stepped off at his stop and began making his way home. He had walked the streets for years so he didn’t even bother watching where he was going as he had it all memorized down to the gutters and sidewalk cracks. Even absently avoiding one of the worn-down speed bump a couple blocks from his house.
By the time he heard the shrieking of brakes his body was already making contact with the hood and then windshield of a sports car. The sound of the windshield crunching into spiderwebs somehow stuck in his mind even as the momentum of the braking car threw him to the asphalt below. He didn’t feel the impact to the ground. Didn’t really feel anything except an overwhelming COLD.
Muffled screams and voices could be heard but all he could see was the growing pool of blood that was oozing in the direction of his shattered phone.
He saw a sakura petal land in the crimson liquid.
His shattered screen still lit up with the cover art of the sequel.
He had really wanted to play it…
Ai didn’t remember closing his eyes but when he opened them he was standing in front of a familiar door that led to a familiar Student Council Office.
He could hear familiar voices chatting within.
The fragrance of sakura flowers that covered the whole school grounds was heavy in the air.
Everything was so vibrant and REAL that he couldn’t help the hopeful smile that pulled on his lips as he reached for the doorknob.
A sudden ripple in the air around him broke his attention and his head snapped around to see a wall that he KNEW wasn’t supposed to be there.
A wall with a dark, ornate mirror.
A shiver trailed down his spine and Ai hesitated, glancing at the door again. The door his friends and family were behind.
But there was something.
He looked back to the mirror, seeing the surface ripple and a a deep voice he couldn’t quite make out calling to him.
Without realizing it, Ai’s feet drew him to the mirror.
The reflection wasn’t of him, though, but of a hand reaching out from shadows. Pale with dark, sharp nails.
“To me. To them. To yourself. The hour grows long, and time is scarce.
Keep steady your grip, no matter what may come...”
The hand wanted him. Was pleading with him, he could feel it.
Ai glanced over his shoulder at the door. The door of a story he loved. That he knew inside and out. A story where he knew he could belong.
The mirror flickered. The voice broke.
Ai turned to the mirror. To a voice that was crying out for him. To a place he knew nothing of that could lead to disaster.
To a mysterious, unexplored story.
He took the hand.
“Who are you, child?”
“My name is Ai.”
“I better hurry up and find that uniform before someone spots me...”

Hi everyone, hope you like Ai. (yes I chose his name as a pun :D)
If it wasn't obvious (though I hope I managed to convey it in some way) Ai was supposed to be isekai'd into his otome game "KISS KISS x Fall in Love" (that is a thinly veiled easter egg to Ouran High School Host Club.) Instead though, Crowley was able to reach into his isekai reality and drag him to theirs.
Please let me know what you think. This isn't beta'd though and I'm just having fun with it and not really planning much ahead, just going where the story takes me so please be forgiving. lol
LETS HERE ABOUT REWRITING REALITY WHATS THE MAIN GOAL, GIVE US THE KNOWN ANTAGONISTS, AND THE STARTING PARTY
OH THANK U SO MUCH PARKER ILY I KNOW U LOVE RR
okay basically!! for anyone unfamiliar, rewriting reality is the story that @pllyhedron and i are creating! it's been in the works for a little over a year and a half (though we havent worked on it for some months now). the basic concept of it, is that the multiverse is a library! each world is a story book, filled with the pages of reality. these pages make up Existence Itself, and the library is tended to be the author— basically, they're god. and then there's their twin, word eater. it's a piece of shit that wants to eat these pages. hungry ass. that would be our main villain. when a worls grows weak, three things happen— one, it becomes targeted by word eater. two, the pages of reality scatter throughout the world. then, the final step of the process— a seer is chosen. seers are individuals randomly picked by the universe. they are the only ones capable of DIRECTLY tracking the pages of reality, and the world usually depends on them to collect the pages. if they're found and reunited (by taking them to the mender, a creature similar to the author), the world will be restored, and word eater will be unable to consume the pages. if they aren't— well, that world ceases to exist, once word eater consumes them. why does all that matter for the main plot? the pages of reality for earth have now been scattered, and the seer... isn't the most equipped to save it.
which takes us to the starting cast!! we have charlie speere— the seer of earth, who is... literally just a college student. thats it. there's nothing special about him, other than the fact that he is so, so horribly plain. then, there's his best friend, jeremy. he's really sweet!! he and charlie have known eachother since they were kids, and jeremy's going to the same college. and finally. we have :/. charlie's awful, horrible roommate. vincent. he's just a fucking asshole. he sucks so bad. i love him.
