Collection of short stories, the title story "of Robin Hood city gangster, Jim Donovan, Midge, and Kitty Costello." Stories served as the basis for two black and white silent films, with Big Brother being remade in 1931 as Young Donovan's Kid produced by RKO, directed by Fred Niblo and starring Richard Dix, Marion Shilling, Jackie Cooper and a young Boris Karloff.

"Dear Drooper: So what was the single biggest takeaway from your engagement at the Rex Beach Casino?"

While our performances may have had their role of importance, to answer your enquiry, the single biggest takeaway from our Rex Beach engagement might have to be this: After our name being nearly sullied by that rather awful horror film treatment, it was felt best to reacquaint ourselves with our fans, and not just on the concert stage.

We certainly had plenty of opportunity outside of the Rex Beach Casino stage for just such reacquaintenance, and they were legend. Not just walking through the downtown area of Rex Beach, but also in spending time on Lake Betty or its shores, both among fans and among fellow characters. As well as one afternoon at a "fresh air" summer camp for disadvantaged children; you should have certainly seen the look in campers' faces when we took the stage, as it were, on the beach for as much a concert as a meet-and-greet. Bingo, as a matter of fact, couldn't help but sense a closeness to one 11-year-old girl who confided in him just how she had been abused, sexually in particular, by her parents ... and he mentioned the details to a camp counsellor, who, last I understood it, referred the matter to social workers back in her hometown.

That day at the summer camp would certainly have to stand out as exceptionally memorable during our Rex Beach engagement. After all, concert tours aren't always about spending nights on the stage and days on the road between shows.

... and a good time was certainly had by all such Hanna-Barbera Funtastics out at Rex Beach and especially so on Lake Betty!
