“I don’t think any of us were particularly subtle. If it makes you feel better, I’ll allow you to share the blame…but only half of it.” Then Obi-Wan shrugs. “Or a fourth of it, I suppose. Anakin doesn’t make a convincing slaver any more than Ahsoka makes a convincing slave.”
Rex snorts at that, more air than humor. “I suppose you’re right. Thank you, Sir.”
Obi-Wan ducks his head, overcome by the generosity of his friend. Some might say it takes a Jedi to feel compassion in the face of such adversity, but clearly it takes a clone as well.
As if to prove him right, Rex glances around to make sure they’re not being watched, then puts a hand on Obi-Wan’s wrist, one of the few places his skin hasn’t been torn open. “How are you feeling?”
Or: Sometimes it takes a clone.
