Hive City was full to the brim of oddballs, that much he’d come to know in the years he’d lived there. Even as its residents shifted, everything stayed the same in its strangeness. So it wasn’t much of a surprise that he heard noises coming from a large dumpster on his walk home, but natural curiosity inclined him to investigate. If it was a hungry raccoon, then so be it.
Hoisting himself onto a rickety tin garbage can beside the larger receptacle, he leans over to get a better look at just what, or in this case who, was making such noise. To his suprise, it’s not a wild animal or grubby hillbilly, but a girl, her hair tied back to keep (mostly) out of her face as she rummaged knee-deep in the pile of scrap metal and wire.
“Hey, uh...”
“Need some help in there?”
