Attention fellow Rey cosplayers !!!

So I'm going to start working on my staff soon , but before I do I wanted to know what y'all made your staffs out of. I don't want it to get confiscated so any advice would be much appreciated 😊

Thanks Steve Schlesinger for taking this picture of my Rey cosplay at Festival of Fools. It’s my first foray into steampunk (I finally got goggles thanks to the Iron Tailor!) and I’m excited to delve deeper into steampunk cosplay. Interestingly enough, so much of Rey’s costume is already kind of steampunky so it’s not too far of a leap. I’ve been intrigued by steampunk for awhile now but have always been intimidated because all the gears and metal and corsets involved seemed really challenging but thanks to workshops by Dude Vader & the Star Wars Steamp Punk Universe and a steampunk 101 talk at CondorCon, I’m finally taking a plunge. 

Dude Vader asked me what my name is and I told him I didn’t have one (many of you know me as Fat Carol but that doesn’t really apply to my Rey cosplay, does it?). He suggested Ratchet Rey because of the tool but that term has a negative connotation nowadays so I’m unsure whether or not I’m going to run with it. Honestly, the first thing that popped into my head was actually Raging Rey when I started thinking about names - partly for the alliteration and partly due to my deep-seated anger issues... but I’m not sure yet. I’ve been torn since January when I debuted this cosplay whether or not I’d use Fat Rey too... If I fit the pro/semi-pro cosplay mold I might go with Ravishing Rey but we all know that’s not really my style. If any of you read this and have suggestions, please let me know. I’m absolutely touched and flattered by the positive reception my Rey cosplay has been getting these past four months and I definitely want to keep working to improve not just her build but her persona.
