The mere fact that Rey “love/hates” a guy who massacred people and murdered his own father just kills her character for me. Like...none of that was necessary and none of that is interesting.

I personally think disney is behind a lot of what the cast has been saying in order to bait r***** to go in droves to the theaters, & when their hopes are ultimately crushed they'll have already given them their money so they don't care if they get mad at them or not. I'm just holding onto what daisy has been saying these last months & that she discussed her feelings with jj, putting her foot down about her character, so I hope that helps a little
I’m not sure about that. But I haven’t been following the cast and what they’ve been saying. But there’s really nothing redeemable about this quote (that I just came across today): “I’m really appreciative of the relationship between Rey and Kyl.o, and what the writers managed to do with it. This kind of love/hate relationship. As if something drew them towards each other despite their will.” x (I first saw it mentioned here) Yes hate is in there, but regardless of Rey’s animosity toward Kyl.o, if “love” is a factor, I don’t think it can bode anything well for her character. TLJ already made her so OOC, I shouldn’t be surprised that they’d continue down a badly written path for her character. But before seeing that quote I had hope they might leave that bad storyline behind in TLJ. Instead they seem to want to still mess around with Rey’s angst-filled bond with a mass murderer with no redeeming qualities, which is appealing to so many people somehow.
Everything you’re saying about SW??? Cheers I’ll Drink To That Bro - I CANNOT deal with reylo bs again. @ Disney if you’re not gonna do Finnrey say you’re racist and a space nazi apologist and g o
If only they’d be that upfront lol. I mean it seems they have so much money they don’t give a fuck, so why can’t they make it gay with Rey/Jannah at the least? But no. We gotta have an angsty dynamic with the “tragic” white male villain who already killed his dad and murdered many others (millions or billions, a lot is a lot). I’m not surprised, just disgusted. TLJ was so bad - especially in terms of Rey’s entire storyline - I kind of doubted they could back pedal enough to erase all its shittiness. But now my tiny hope is gone. I doubt they’ll even let Finn be force sensitive in text - BUT he always will be force sensitive no matter what canon does.
If finnrey isn’t endgame the least they could do is have Rey and Jannah get together. Will they? No bc disney is a bunch of cishet white cowards
