the scene of rey & kr looking like they're fighting someone is actually supposed to be on kr"s ship & a lot of ppl think they're fighting each other & that rey accidentally destroys a shrine to palpatine/vader in the process, & that it makes kr go Big Mad so I'm like full sith let's go baby!!! let him be evil let's go!!
at this point i’d like everybody to join hands in a prayer circle for this to be the case
to unplague your inbox, are you looking forward to whenever grrm publishes winds of winter or do you think it'll be stuck in limbo forever along with the final book since it's taken so long to be written? I really enjoyed the books & would love to see them finished if possible
I think we’ll get Winds at some point, because it’s likely mostly written and I imagine he doesn’t want hundreds of pages and countless hours of work to be for nothing.
For ADOS...I’m not holding out hope. He hasn’t even started it, but says he expects it to be almost 1000 pages long. He’s not in his prime health nor age and he’s made it clear that he doesn’t want anyone else finishing the series after him.
I don’t know how excited I am for it, tbh. I’ve loved everything we’ve had so far, but I’m a little emotionally exhausted with the characters and the story after the show butchered everything. I’ve always kept the books and show separate, but GOT left such a bad taste, I need some distance so I can properly enjoy the characters in Winds who are totally different but still share the same names as their bullshit counterparts.
I’d love a proper end to the series too! But I’ve also made my peace that it might not be finished but I’ve loved the ride anyway. Without it, I wouldn’t have found the characters I adore nor had the influence I’ve had on my own writing ❤️
gottaboldlygo replied to your post “ben solo was trending on twitter and i don’t care for that shit at...”
luke skywalker is THE skywalker how fuckin DARE they even tHINK this clown ass boy even measures on the same scale as our best boy,, he ain't even a skywalker he's a solo or organa so joke's on his stans
you’re right and you should say it
I personally think disney is behind a lot of what the cast has been saying in order to bait r***** to go in droves to the theaters, & when their hopes are ultimately crushed they'll have already given them their money so they don't care if they get mad at them or not. I'm just holding onto what daisy has been saying these last months & that she discussed her feelings with jj, putting her foot down about her character, so I hope that helps a little
I’m not sure about that. But I haven’t been following the cast and what they’ve been saying. But there’s really nothing redeemable about this quote (that I just came across today): “I’m really appreciative of the relationship between Rey and Kyl.o, and what the writers managed to do with it. This kind of love/hate relationship. As if something drew them towards each other despite their will.” x (I first saw it mentioned here) Yes hate is in there, but regardless of Rey’s animosity toward Kyl.o, if “love” is a factor, I don’t think it can bode anything well for her character. TLJ already made her so OOC, I shouldn’t be surprised that they’d continue down a badly written path for her character. But before seeing that quote I had hope they might leave that bad storyline behind in TLJ. Instead they seem to want to still mess around with Rey’s angst-filled bond with a mass murderer with no redeeming qualities, which is appealing to so many people somehow.
every person who calls him b/en solo instead of kylo ren, who he calls his "true self", give me $500 right now for your clowning (also he's still a villain, even if he isn't the main villain anymore,, for now)
Couldn’t have said it better!!!
I would Love to see rlos mention that ship to casual viewers irl & watch the latter give them looks that range from "what the fuck" to "I'm concerned about what you think is qualified for romance", hell maybe both & everything in between, bc I fuckin did just to make sure I was truly on the correct side, & lo & behold, every fuckin person looked alarmed or confused. truly ready for this st to be over so they can disappear into another fandom & leave sw alone
I used to be heavily involved in DnD, LARPs and cons during Uni. While I no longer play, I still keep in contact with a lot of people from those days. We actually have a reunion each year in December, where we meet for several hours and catch up on our lives in person. All of these people are at least passingly familiar with most of the major sci-fi, horror and fantasy franchises around. Few of them are deeply involved in fandom, though, and if they are, the fandoms differ from a person to person and are more likely to be along the lines of collecting merchandise, rather than participating in the transformative part of their fandom.
Most of those people don’t care about SW beyond going to a cinema once to see it. They are the quintessential casual viewers. So two years ago, we talked about TLJ a bit only because it was new at the time. I argued with someone about the treatment of Luke in that movie and whether Kylo was a good villain. I purposefully brought up r3ylo romance and most of the reactions to that were a bafflement that there are actually people who think it was going to be canon. “He was a total creep to her” was one of my favourite reactions, actually. Even people who liked Kylo didn’t want him in a romance.
Of course, none of this is going to convince hardcore shippers about anything. Because they would have to admit that outside of their internet echo chambers, their ship is not even a blink on the radar for the majority of the audience. Yes, the marketing team for the movie is teasing them, because they are easily exploitable for clicks. But honestly? They are a drop in the ocean compared to the general audience who could care less about the ship.
my fave ratlo people are ones who heard about the ship despite never seeing sw, watched all of sw to get up to the most recent movie, & STILL ship it bc 1) they think it will be a legit romance or 2) purely out of spite bc there are valid criticisms against it & they don't want to admit that they are in the wrong to frame it like it's healthy/should be canon lmaooo god when will it be january 2020 so this can be over
spite shippers .... i’m lucky enough to not have personally run across one of those i think?
The worst attitudes I run across are the folks who are like “sure it’s abusive but it’s just fiction so who cares” or “i obv don’t support that in real life, what do you think i am, an abuse apologist?” like yeah kinda lol.
I just hope to god that they don’t make reylo canon. that would just break my heart. It’s not even about ship wars. Like I don’t care. A ship I don’t really like is finnrose, but if that happens, whatever, I don’t care. If reylo happens I feel like it’s just honestly a terrible message to send and supportive of abuse and a buncha other bullshit i’ve outlined in other posts, so i won’t beat that horse into the ground.
but yeah, fuck reylo.
