He got overly ambitious at the start of it and overused it, causing a light explosion and it left a perma blue color on his face

But he bit off more than he could chew and accidentally did a big explosion near his face, but now he has a sick facial scar!

He's also a huge romantic but also lost his left ring finger in said explosion and he's still upset about it
