– Hark! Make way for { THE LORD OF CASTERLY ROCK, } CERION LANNISTER, who has just arrived at King’s Landing, all the way from CASTERLY ROCK. HE is 31 years old and was born of HOUSE LANNISTER. They are rumored to be WITTY, SOCIABLE, and TALENTED, but at the same time are also known to be CONTROLLING, HOT-TEMPERED, and RECKLESS.
and here’s my second muse, Cerion, who’s a bit more straightforward, we stan a dumb hot jock
ok he’s not actually dumb
The eldest of five (five!!!) children, Cerion was always very aware of his destiny as Lord of Casterly Rock, but also he was raised by the son of Jaime and Brienne, so his childhood was happy because Jaime said fuck Tywin and like,, actually treated his children well. Casterly rock very much now has a culture of love and family that would probably make Tywin shudder.
There’s still that Lannister ambition - Cerion is not yet Warden of the West and his key objective in coming to KL for the coronation is to make bloody sure the new King appoints him as such or he’ll be pissed - but it’s tempered by a real sense of what can be lost by overarching lust for power. Cerion would never put his family at risk and doesn’t want a war in the least. But also he’s proud af and always pays his debts, and most of the time through the sword.
oh yeah, the sword. Cerion is the grandson of Jaime Lannister, and was actually born when Jaime was still Lord of Casterly Rock. He doesn’t quite have the Kingslayer’s skill, but what he lacks in raw talent he’s made up for in endless training, dedicating most of his childhood and adolescence to the training yard. He’s powerful, fierce, and unbeatable except for a very few (most of those just being...better than him. There’s only so much that dedication and hard work can do. he’s no sword of the morning). Of course, King Aegon’s rule saw no war to test his skills, but the Westerlands isn’t the most peaceful place. He’s put down a fair number of minor rebellions and brigands in his time, and has a reputation for skill on the battlefield.
Cerion always felt somewhat suspicious of the Crown Prince - to him it seems logical that Prince Daemon should have been designated heir, being both the elder and the better fighter, something that Cerion respects inherently. Still, he won’t do anything rash...unless the occasion calls for it.
In person he’s a bit gruff, too blunt for his own good, and definitely more soldier than courtier, but he has the Lannister lust for life (uh...ahem) and he’s sociable and extroverted, an excellent speaker, and inspiring when he wants to be. He’s looking forward to the coronation as an opportunity to meet up with old friends (any noblemen who might have had fathers who leapt at the chance to have them fostered at Casterly Rock with the elderly Jaime Lannister hmu!!) and like,, drink and go hunting and generally lead the rather more rough faction of young noblemen.
Except he’s married now, which is....horrifying. He’s not exactly faithful physically to his wife, but he sort of lowkey worships her and thinks she’s the most terrifying and intelligent woman he’s ever met, so don’t criticise her or you’ll probably get punched. That’s how Cerion likes to solve most issues tbh. Politician he is not, but he’s fun.
tl;dr grandson of the kingslayer makes better choices than his grandfather but he’s still an arrogant asshole of a Lannister, just with a more functional childhood. probably gonna support Daemon Targaryen if it comes to civil war, sorry Starks...
