Heirloom of House of Manderly
House Manderly - Valentino Pre fall 2016

Arthur smiled, straightening himself up slightly and offering the girl a polite bow. He smirked then, the quirk of his lips soon followed by a soft chuckle. “I have found that Southerners do lack the hardyness that the North gives us My lady. Perhaps they would be better for it, but then again sometimes i worry that too much of the wilds could kill some of my fellow Lords.” Arthur chuckled again “-i trust you are enjoying your time in the South? It is not for everyone, use Northerners it seems, have a hard itme adjusting.” Arthur followed her gaze with a nod, another soft chuckle escaping him as he answered. “Seems i have lost it now too.” Overhead, the bright sun pin and made the gold hand wink.
“Wild? Oh no, my lord, after wandering both the Red Keep and Winterfell I am confident when I say the north is not wild.” Adjusting to the heat was easy enough. It was the judgement that was harder to swallow. Jocelyn shook her head, determined to keep her composure. “Lost how? I’m nowhere near tall enough to block your view.” She rose to stand on the tips of her toes, and she still had to look up at her lord. “Ah yes. Now you’ve lost it for certain.”

New faces were coming to the keep every day in preparation for the coronation of the new king. This was just another one of those faces as she spoke up and the name sounded familiar and trying to recall the young lady from white harbor as she arrived. “Lady Manderly, apologies.” He offered with a nod of his head, though it was soon replaced with a small chuckle. “I fear it’s by appearance only and I have to disappointment, not quite an angel, just a man.”
The mask of humility was one with witch she was all to familiar. Nothing she’d seen ever suggested a man in armor would be truly humble. “A man who keeps our king safe is not one I would say is ‘just’ a man.” Night, the distance, all the silly sotheron sensibilities, or a combination of all three emboldened her to drop some of her own mask. She curtsied with a dramatic flourish almost giggling. “You’ve got permission to delight in your cloak. Promise I won’t tell a soul.”

{ Neelam Gill, 21, cisfemale}–Hark! Make way for { Lady } JOCELYN MANDERLY, who has just arrived at King’s Landing, all the way from WHITE HARBOR. SHE is TWENTY-ONE years old and was born of HOUSE MANDERLY. They are rumored to be PERSONABLE, DEDICATED, NURTURING, but at the same, are also known to be SECRETIVE , LOYAL, TRUSTING.
Arthur had managed to take a few minutes to himself. The small council meeting had finished early, Arthur having watched his fellow council member agree to lunch together, or go about their own business. Arthur was indeed hungry, but was dying for fresh air more. He left the council chamber and walked far enough to leave the Red Keep through a high, sand stone archway onto the battlements. He strode along, finally stopping in front of an inlay. He leaned upon it, bracing his forearms against the cool stone and staring out in the Blackwater. The sea rolled nosily against the cliff side and a sense of calm descended upon the Hand of the King. It was only when a long shadow over came him, blocking the sun in his right eye, that he glanced to the side and offered a smile. “-it doesn’t smell so much of shit from this end of the palace.” he half joked.
“Lord Stark,” she admonished. It would have been quite the scolding if it wasn’t for the girlish giggle that followed. Jocelyn was starved for home comforts. When she caught sight of the Hand she steered her steps towards him. “It is a comfort to know there’s some of the north all these leagues south. You could have sent one of these southerners into a fainting spell, I think.”
Taking up a spot near him she looked out over the water. Even the Blackwater looked like a dressed up lake. Still it was a comfort to watch the lazy progressions of ships. “This is a good spot, thank you for marking it.”
The Lord Commander stepped out onto the balcony. The moon shone full and brought overhead and illuminated the shadows so no one could hide. He crossed over to the stone balustrade, hands coming to rest on top of it as he looked out to the gardens below. Eve vigilant even in the quiet of the night. Dark eyes sought out any who might do harm to the king - or rather, the prince to be crowned. King Aegon has died a few months ago, he hadn’t mourned the loss in the usual sense, all men died, but he still felt a sense of loyalty and sadness to the man who had risen him to to the Kingsguard and then named him Lord Commander. Maybe he was getting sentimental. As for the Prince, Ser Brandon would serve him with the same loyalty he had shown his uncle as was his oath and duty. So even now he looked for the things that went bump in the night. Among those things was the sound of the soft cadence of footsteps. Immediately he straightened his posture and turned, “Who’s there?”
Sleeping in new places had always come with a struggle for Jocelyn. The first few nights in the Keep were no different; sleep would come eventually, and she would not fight it. Instead she had slipped out of her room intending to walk off the nerves. As luck had it the moon lit up the paths along the walls enabling her to wander further than intended.
“Jocelyn Manderly, ser. Forgive me. I hadn’t meant to sneak up on you.” The white cloak nearly glowed in the moonlight leaving no doubt she spoke to a kingsguard. Looking up she smiled in the middle of her curtsy. “From up there you look like an angel.”
