also this proves my longstanding point about janniksin and 5-setters, it is almost impossible to get him there unless he’s unwell or you’re playing out of your mind. today was the former, in dramatic fashion, with him serving for the match in the 3rd set after a completely dominant first 2 sets.

it’s not that he loses matches if they go 5 sets, it’s that matches only go 5 sets if he’s going to lose them. you cannot beat him in straight sets. even in 4 is rare, basically only reserved for carlos alcaraz and his insane uso25 form.
