Didn't effect him that much, he went from a happy golucky laughing over all childish boy to flinching, nervous , hyperaware teen who is clearly not forced to learn how to fight till his brother saw his immediate rival being stronger, those are the immediate changes show has shown us from episode 6/7 to 8 lucerys he has had the biggest shift in personality out of all the child characters, he laughed at pink dread not about taking the eye, hes a 14 year old hes a little stupid so what, he has a personality that ranges so stop villainising and belittling him, pick a lane and better yet pretend he does not exist and don't put him in the tag

Luke was nervous because of Vaemond and the claims he was making, it's the first thing we hear in episode ten. That his claim should've gone to him, he also reiterated it during episode 8.

I say that he was laughing about the pink dread. Which was him clearly not applying the context that he had since taken the eye of the person that prank was played on because he's a kid who didn't really have consequences for that action to be careful.

I agree with fact that Jace was rough with him because of the fight with Aegon and Aemond.

I also don't see how saying he's fond of Rhaena and would probably take up that role as a six year old is so out of character. Doesn't that show his range? He's a good kid, but very much so a kid.

I don't understand the fight here.

That big change is also just him becoming a teenager and learning about the world and how it perceives him. Baby Luke didn't even know that their was a question that he was Laenor's son. Baby Luke was at a funeral saying he didn't want his seat because people would die in order for him to have it, while apologizing.

Bigger Luke has to go to King's Landing on the ground that that's being contested. He even says that people wouldn't do this if he looked more like Laenor than Harwin.

I'm not villanizing him, or belittling his plot, I'm saying that Little Luke would talk on behalf of Rhaena if she asked him to. That's not out of character for him. I don't understand your issue.

It wasn't an analysis of Luke either. It was a headcanon for him and Rhaena when they were children. One that works for his character at the time. The lane I'm picking is a canon possibility today.

What is the issue?

Please never speak on lucerys velaryon, act like he doesn't exist and is already dead at 6 🙏 messenger between daemon and rhaena as if that boy doesn't have more trauma from finding his father wasn't his father, lost both and maimed someone. Please keep these self insert hcs

Strange idea.

Because he isn't, and I won't.

So kids bonding with each other and getting a bad habit is completely off the table because people don't make friends when they have trauma.

Luke wasn't traumatized from defending Jace. Him yelling to defend himself and laughing at the pink dread memory should be enough proof that it didn't affect him all that much.

Losing two dads and meeting a kid who just lost her mom is a good way to bond as well, over a similar loss. We see Rhaena devastated by the loss of Vhagar and her mother. We see Luke in the same mourning clothes after then we get the timejump, where he and Rhaena are always smiling, laughing, or she looks concerned for him.

That more trauma thing is also strange. The trauma in question is him feeling like an imposter inheriting Driftmark. No offense to you, but Vaemond's death has more of an impact than Ser Harwin in the show.

Luke loves his mother. He adores her. And he's looking up at Daemon from since Driftmark.

So I don't see how carrying a message would be a unlike him, canonical envoy and helper (Aemond beating Jace, getting Joffrey's egg at this point) and him doing this at 6/7 is such a big stretch of the imagination. Especially when Rhaenyra tells Jace to go comfort his cousins, it's not a big stretch to think Luke would do the same.

I don't read fan fiction on him alone at all, so I'm not sure what the general consensus on him is, but I'm not so far off to have to kill a six year old.

That idea does have a basis in the show.

The self insert thing is also quite unusual. I'm not saying that I wouldn't do it, but I don't think this is the post for it. These girls were set personalities in the books and loosely adapted so far in the show, name the hc's that aren't based in an interpretation of their book characters into the show, or have no basis in the world, or Baela just being a canonical big sister.

I think a big issue is that y'all are too used to these boys being the main characters, the thought that a six year old would listen to his older cousin, especially if she's only talking to him, which imposes his importance, isn't out of bounds because of grief. That's not how grief works.
