IDEA!!
Thank goodness because I've been wanting to reboot aiaime/academy story but it really didn't have a plot AND I've been in the character design mood with nothing to do with it.
Baaaaasically what if magic had disappeared in a section of the world for centuries, only for it to suddenly reappear in a small portion of the population? They bring in experts from other parts of the world and take all of these magic-wielders to a special "school" to train and to contain them. It is a fantasy world, with a variety of non-human humanoid species (Gryffonei, Threllys, fae, elves) but for reasons unknown, magic had been blocked in this one specific part of the world. Now it's back and they're not quite sure what to do.
The story would follow a group of these magic-wielders at the Academy (to be named) as they navigate their abilities and the greater societal implications, as well as trying to figure out exactly why this sudden change has occured and dealing with their individual conflicts.
The main characters would be Rhey, a disabled Draconas air mage with absolutely no family trauma (<- lies); Felicity, a fire mage (species tbd) with an equally fiery personality; and Hart, a chill Gryffonei (magic type tbd) desperate to get away from his past. Demetrios, the headmaster's son and either an earth mage or telekinetic, will also be a recurring character, as well as Adira, a mechanic (maybe a mage, maybe not, haven't decided) who often works closely with Rhey on experiments.
I'll still have to figure out why there would be no magic in the first place, and how it would come back, plus decide which whether they were born with the magic or discovered it later. It'll take a lot of rewrites and redesigns but I'm excited to bring back one of my oldest stories with a new coat of paint
