Ik a lot of people think Rotta is goofy but introducing him is the best thing they could’ve done for Grogu. Before, Grogu’s relationship with Din Djarin as his adoptive father was always going to end in tragedy, because humans simply do not live long. But now Grogu has a friend that has a lifespan that also lasts hundreds of years. When Din Djarin is gone, Grogu will have an older brother figure to watch over him. Yes I have cried thinking about this

okay yes tragedy is great and all but. close your eyes. hold my hand. imagine the catharsis of a happy ending for expedition 33. imagine they find a way, against all odds, to find that middle ground. imagine they get to go home. imagine they all get to live. imagine that indomitable human spirit wins.

if the other pack mates don’t approve of a bonded mate, in a yabdere scenario could they just kill the mate off? Would there be any side affects in losing your mate and would the packs urge to bond with that mate disappear?

in spite of how it may appear, mating is not usually something done on a whim or without the whole pack being in agreement. most alphas are not out to deliberately stir up their packmates by making unilateral decisions about something as important as a mate. if it goes bad, chances are it'll go real bad.

whilst ruts do lower an alpha's inhibitions and trigger the need to fuck, knot and claim, it isn't a case of first available hole in preferred gender/s will do. designation comes into it. scent comes into it. push comes to shove, they'll fuck a random to take the edge off, but they're not going to feel a compulsion to bite and bond with someone that they wouldn't outside of a rut. accidental bites are not that common, and when they do happen it's usually because there's a decent chance of compatibility with the pack as a whole (not a guarantee, but it's a good indicator).

i've said before that the pack bond isn't a hive mind situation. if one goes rogue and mates with someone the others can't stand, no one is forcing them to also bite and bond with them. most likely, they'll keep their mate and the others will look for their own – which has the potential to get dicey, but it could work if it was done right.

now if it was outright seething hatred, jumping straight to murder is still a big stretch. presuming the original alpha holds some measure of affection or at least good-will towards their mate, that's likely to fracture and poison a pack. the death of a mate does take a physical and emotional toll* – not to mention that unless it was something quick they never saw coming coming, their alpha would absolutely feel them die – all the fear and pain, the death of the bond itself. it ain't pretty.

the smarter thing to do would be to slow play it and attack the bond itself. force distance, create mistrust and a toxic environment, drive a wedge between them so that either bond sickness kicks in and finishes the job and/or or their alpha grows apathetic and resentful enough that they simply won't care. ofc there's like a 70% chance this also ends with the pack straight up imploding so it's a delicate touch.

*if the bond has withered from neglect/distance etc. the 'recoil' is lessened.
