Alright, I am relatively new to the fandom and I’m new to Tumblr. I’ve just posted my first ever Rhink fic on Ao3! It’s a fluffy and slightly angsty au where Rhett is a barber and Link is his client.

Rhett and Link were best friends all through school. Time for college comes and they decide to go to different schools. Each wanting to pursue their own passions and see who they are without the other. Neither of them mentioned the undeniable pull to each other they experienced in high school. Both of them too scared and confused to admit their feelings for each other at that time and in that small town.
Rhett went to college on a basketball scholarship, paving his way into the NBA. His junior year of College, he suffers an injury that puts him out of playing the game full-time. He continues school to get his degree in teaching and now is a high school basketball coach in his hometown of Buies Creek.
Link went off to college to pursue a career in engineering and is part of a very successful engineering firm in Raleigh. He's set to marry his boss's daughter (which honestly happened a little faster than he expected) and live happily ever after in their big house in the suburbs with their 3 kids and 2 labradors (or that's her plan for them anyway).
Link brings his fiancé back home to meet his mom and takes her to all the significant places from where he grew up (which she thinks is a waste of time). They make it to the school's gym and there's Rhett bagging up the balls after practice.
Neither of them know how to talk to each other anymore, which is strange given how well they knew each other growing up, like two halves of a whole person. But here they are, practically strangers and somehow still pulled to each other like opposing magnets....
COLLEGE LIBRARIAN RHETT and TEACHER LINK . Link sitting in the library with Rhett while he grades papers and book loving Rhett filling their house with old books. Link would teach math or performing arts I bet

TEACHER RHETT AND HEAD OF IT LINK (cause Fr link looks like he should work in IT). Whenever rhett wants to see link he would fake a computer problem. If Rhett was a teacher he would be an art teacher or a science teacher he has that vibe
