BIM/TOOL: Scan&Solve - In Situ Analysis for Rhino
GETTING STARTED
To get started using Scan&Solve™ you will need to have an installation of Rhino (V4 SR9 or V5 32-bit) on your Windows computer. An evaluation copy of Rhino may be downloadedhere. (This fully functional version is the same as the commercial version except that it only saves 25 times. Scan&Solve™ will operate within Rhino during this evaluation period.)
V1.3 of Scan&Solve™ is now available !
Download the free 17-day evaluation or purchase a license.
The Scan&Solve™ documentation may be accessed through this link, while a one-page summary of controls can be found here. Please join the Scan-and-Solve for Rhino network to be notified about updates.
TAKE YOUR RHINO FOR A TEST
For users of Rhino who share the vision of seamless integration between geometric design and physical simulation. Scan&Solve™ for Rhino performs basic stress tests on native Rhino solid models. No meshing or conversions are required and no prior knowledge of analysis or finite elements is needed. Share your experiences with Scan&Solve™ for Rhino, and make suggestions on desired features and improvements.

WORKSHOP: RhinoFabLab - Gerald D Hines CoA - University of Houston
RhinoFabLab Grasshopper Collaborative Workshop (10-12 October):
This workshop will give students a functional understanding of Grasshopper and Parametric design. This will allow them to build on this understanding into more advanced projects of their own including design optimization, and creating models on the Laser and CNC machines, respectively.
NOTE: Rhino Level 1 training is required to be able to take this training.
Since we have three full days of the workshop, it has been decided that sessions will be divided into 4 blocks of two hours for each day. Whereby, we will have 12 full blocks for GH.
Workshop hours run from: 10am – 12pm / 1pm – 6/7pm (with a one hour lunch break between 12pm – 1pm)
