EVADNE EVERYONE EVADNE AND APOLLO ARE LITERALLY DISNEY STORY BEFORE WALT DISNEY WAS EVEN A CONCEPT ON THE UNIVERSAL PLAIN. Iamus their son is PEAK Disney protag complete with "I AM OOOON MY WAAAAYYYY I CAN GO THE DISTANCE" energy PLUS. EVADNE'S STEPDAD ISN'T A VILLAIN HE FREAKED OUT ABOUT HER BEING PREGNANT BECAUSE HER BIO DAD POSEIDON LEFT HER TO HIM TO CARE FOR (hey sidenote is this a case of mlm with a baby here. i don't recall evadne having a mom.) because Evadne was scared he'd go off the deep end so she hid Iamus :( so stepdad takes the baby, finds her, and is like "we're good we're chill now, my grandbaby is so cute" (or something abouts that) and BOOM there happy ending <3333333

AND THEN MOVIE PART 2 CAN BE ABOUT IAMUS'S DRAMATIC DISNEY PROTAG STORY LIKE COME ON THIS IS SO SWEEEEEET!!!!

Rhoeo is another one. She gets tossed into a box for daring to be pregnant (god forbid woman have kids without their dad's permission. her dad is a piece of work.) and thrown into the sea but Apollo says fuck that and i think poseidon does him a solid and guides the box to delos where rhoeo gives birth to their son anius who becomes KING of delphi and also rhoeo is wingmanned by apollo and she gets a husband who was an apprentice of apollo and they're all one big chill family :D

What's The Love Story?

Apollo disguised himself as a goatherd one day soon after killing Python and Branchus came across him, fell instantly in love with the beautiful shepherd, and kissed him. Apollo was just as enamored with Branchus as he was with him and granted him prophetic abilities, as well as a crown and magical staff!!

Going back some years to Branchus's birth, you could say that his mom received a vision of his future as a lover of Apollo - she dreamt that a glowing sun went into her mouth and through her stomach.

Also, since Apollo met Branchus soon after killing Python, he's probably Apollo's first lover EVER! Which is SO COOL APOLLO'S FIRST LOVE WAS A SHEPHERD BOY THE BISEXUALITY IS REAL

also also, an altar was built on the place where Branchus kissed Apollo <3 true love <3 and prophecies from Branchus were second only to Delphi itself, so Branchus got some STAR TREATMENT

What's The Love Story?

Her dad was THE worst and when he found out she was pregnant he didn't believe her that the father of the baby was a god so he put her in a wooden chest and threw into the sea. Jokes on him because Apollo was baby's father so Rhoeo made it safely to Delos. She gave birth to Anius and placed him on the alter in Apollo's temple and asked him to save the baby if he was truly his (idk why he needed saving tbh, the myth does not specify this. I headcanon that he was born too early)

Apollo then took Anius and not only saved him but also started to raise and mentor him.

Rhoeo later married Zarex who adopted Anius so our boy had 3 parents, good for him. And there are no myths about her dying a horrible death so she probably had a long and happy life (unlike some other lovers of Apollo 🙃)

Also around the same time Rhoeo got thrown into the sea in that wooden chest, while her sisters were watching over their dad's wine, it got destroyed by the swines. The sisters were so terrified of their father they decided to jump of the cliff but Apollo saved them and turned them into goddesses.

Why Should They Win?

I think Apollo truly loved her not only as a lover but as a friend too. It was not a one night stand like often happens in the myths. He loved her enough to save not only her and their son but also her sisters (like come on he turned them into goddesses). He let her live on his sacred island. And he loved her enough to let her go. While gods are often very possessive of their lovers (Apollo included, rip Koronis), he had no problem with Rhoeo moving on and getting married. I like to think that they stayed good friends and Apollo was very happy that she found such a great guy like Zarex to marry.

RHOEO, ANIUS, & ZAREX

In Greek mythology, Rhoeo was the daughter of Chrysothemis. She became the lover of Apollo and by him the mother of Anius. When her father discovered her pregnancy, he believed she was impregnated by a man rather than a god. He placed her in a chest and cast her out to sea. She landed on the island of Delos, which was sacred to Apollo, where she gave birth to Anius; she then put him on the altar of Apollo and prayed to the god that the baby be saved if it was his. Apollo concealed the child for some time, taught him the art of divination and granted him certain honors. Rhoeo eventually married Zarex, who accepted Anius as his own, and had two more children with him. Later, Anius became a priest of Apollo and gave aid to Aeneas and his retinue when they were travelling from Troy to the future site of Rome.

I was reading about Apollo's lovers and why is no one here talking about Rhoeo/Rhoio?

Like come on

"I'm so sorry your dad is so terrible, honey. Wanna live on my sacred Island instead?"

And he saved her sisters too???? And turned them into goddesses????

And he was rising their son himself???

And apparently Apollo had no problem with Rhoeo marrying his apprentice??? And Zarex adopted Anius??? And they had 2 more childern??? (I saw the 2 extra children only being mentioned on Wikipedia tho, so if anyone have other source talking about them please share with me 🙏🏻)

Also, Zarex was grandson of Chiron and Chariclo who is said to be Apollo's daughter (in some versions of the myth at least) which makes Apollo Zarex's great grandfather.

And Anius later become the king of Delos (you know the same island where Apollo WAS BORN) and also his father's priest 🥺🥺🥺

Why is no one talking about this??? Look I love Hyacinthus, Cyrene and Admetus, but we're sleeping on some good stories.

Anyway, Rhoeo is now on my top 5 Apollo's lovers list. Slay queen

Here they are!!!

Their myth is super underrated so for those of you who never heard about them I made a post talking about their story -> Rhoeo's Myth

Quick summary: Rhoeo was Apollo's lover, he saved her life when her father wanted to kill her. Anius was their son, he was raised by Apollo and later became king of Delos and Apollo's priest. Zarex was Apollo's apprentice and he later married Rhoeo and adopted Anius

Those Rhoeo and Zarex's designs are showing them at the begining of the story, around the time Rhoeo was pregnant, I see them being in their early 20s back then. Zarex would 100% grow a beard as he got older (maybe I'll draw them older one day)

Anius is 15 yo here.

And now the headcanons!

• Rhoeo was a great musician, she had a beautiful voice and could play many instruments. It's the reason Apollo fell for her.

• Anius was born prematurely, that's why Rhoeo prayed to Apollo to save him.

• When Apollo was taking care of baby Anius, Zarex was making sure Rhoeo was doing allright and feeling comfortable on Delos, they bonded over their love for music.

• After almost dying when she was thrown to the sea in a wooden chest, Rhoeo was afraid of both water and small spaces, which made her avoid coming to the beach (which was a nightmer since Delos is a small island). Sometimes she would have nightmers about being traped in a chest again, it would cause her to wake up in the middle of the night and even tho her room was quite big she would feel trapped and go sleep rest of the night outside. Apollo and Zarex would try their best two help her overcome her traumas.

• One source claimed Rhoeo and Zarex had 2 childern together but their gender were not specified so I propose: twins, a boy and a girl. Can you imagine? Them having twins, when they were living on Delos? The same island Apollo and Artemis was born? Perfection
