These little fellows belong to an undescribed species of Rhombophryne I had the great pleasure of discovering on a trip to Marojejy in northeastern Madagascar in 2016. One of these was the first Rhombophryne I had ever seen alive, and I could not have been more overjoyed to find it directly underneath my hammock on the first or second day of the trip. Who did you name it after?
vaventy is a Malagasy word meaning 'huge', in reference to the large size of the frog.
