I did a close up of Rhunae from this scene. A fellow 3d artist told me about a denoiser I wanted to try. I baked this for 10 minutes, so I could see how it did with noise and fireflies. Call me impressed.

1. Icon - My icon has always been one of my Cavaliers. Usually it’s Audrey/Dree, my youngest dog, because she’s a ham and loves to be photographed.

2. Content - I wish I could tell you that I have a coherent theme, but I don’t. (Maybe the lack of a theme IS a theme?) It’s mostly a mix of SWTOR and WoW content, mingled with a lot of cute animal stuff and funny shitposting that made me laugh. I used to be a prolific fanfic writer for SWTOR, but now can at best be called reluctantly on hiatus due to muse desertion. 

Occasionally political, always full of black girl magic. :)

3. Letter colours - Black on white, red hyperlink text on my blog proper. 

4. URL - Cavalier-life because our household is focused on the comfort and happiness of our pets. ;) (The cats too, and the reptiles, but the dogs came first) I am also a sort of cavalier and unruffled person in general, so it fit on several levels. 

I rarely have the same name across platforms, so my AO3 name is in my blog summary and if you want to find me in other places (like Discord, etc), you have to ask me directly, because it won’t be the same as the name here. 

5. Header - African Wild Dogs are my favorite land animals, and I absolutely love everything about them. So my header reflects that fondness. Ideally, it’d be half AWDs and half giant Mantas. ;)

6. Blog title - “Ruled by Furry Dictators” Self-explanatory. They’re spoiled, which is the natural state for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. ;) The cats too.. possibly even more than the dogs, because I built an addition on the house just for them a short time ago. #srynotsry

First of all, you were my first fandom friend when I was sort of dipping my toes in, and that will always mean so much to me. You fed the beginnings of my Solavellan addiction, and I actually think yours were the first fics I read <3 <3 

Come to think of it, you were my first reader, too! Actually, you were the one who encouraged me to write at all, whether you knew it or not. And I love this hobby, so thank you! 

Your screen shots are gorgeous!!!! It’s funny to see ones I recognize from a while ago still get passed around. And they should be! They are so pretty! But it always makes me happy to see people reblogging your stuff. 

I don’t fully understand what you are doing now with the renderings (?), but they look amazing??? I can’t wait to see what else you create with them. 

Also, bless everyone out there creating more Duncan content.

Ship it meme: Solas and Merrill :)

Thank you for this ask! I had to think about this a little, because it is very interesting.

I am honestly not sure how this would work. I can see Merrill being attracted to Solas, and to his knowledge. And I can see Solas being curious about Merrill and also impressed with her drive and her skill. 

however, I don’t Solas would approve of Merrill’s actions. I think he would think her foolish for trying to restore an eluvian, and for the price she is willing to pay. Given that Merrill has already suffered a lot for her actions, but chose to continue them anyway - I don’t think she would have the patience or desire to try and change Solas’ mind, or be willing to wait for him to process. 

and while Solas doesn’t think bloodmagic is inherently wrong, I think he would have a hard time with a lover who practices it? The fade is so important to him, and to give that up, willingly, I think it would truly baffle him. (From my own relationships, I know that things you don’t actively disapprove of, but simply doesn’t align with your tastes, are easier to accept in others, the less close you are to them.)

So in short, I think they would argue, and clash, a lot. Could this be resolved? Maybe. Someone skilled might be able to write a good fic about it - and I would be curious. But it is not a pairing I think is obvious. 

As for the Dread Wolf thing - well, once Merrill learns that, I think she would be fascinated rather than afraid. She doesn’t adhere deeply to Dalish traditions anyway.
