De Salses a Guardamar i de Fraga a l’Alguer: les comarques de parla catalana una a una. 10/88: la Baixa Ribagorça (La Franja de Ponent).
Baixa Ribagorça is half part of the natural shire of Ribagorça, which together with Baix Cinca, Llitera and Matarranya, are the Catalan language and culture areas in the region of Aragon. This area is known as La Franja de Ponent (The Western Strip) or sometimes La Franja d’Aragó (The Strip of Aragon) in Catalan, and Francha de Levant (the Eastern Strip) in Aragonese. The other half of this natural shire is Alta Ribagorça, in Catalonia.

We´re now crossing the border of Catalonia and Aragon for a two-days hike in the Natural Park of Posets-Maladeta. The hike starts near Benasque and ends (due to bad weather) at the lake Ibón de Cregüeña.
