Flood checking in Midland Michigan
After I looked around at flooding in Freeland (previous post) I drove to Midland.
This first picture 👆is looking towards The Tridge bridge from the east end of downtown Midland. I have made a few postings from there before. It is a three-way pedestrian crossing where the Tittabawassee River splits. I did not try to get any closer because of how many places are barricaded here.
This picture 👆was taken a little to the left from the first shot. I traveled across this 👆 bridge to get here for photographs and in one spot in the distance, three quarters of the road were blocked off due to flooding over the road. The walking path is underwater here.
This third shot is aimed a little more to the left than number 2 pic. There is a LOT of water everywhere here. The last shot is downriver from this green bridge a couple miles. The water above is flowing from right to left.
What you are actually looking at here in the last shot is the boat launch parking lot. The edge of the actual river is past those trees that are directly behind the sign post. I figure they had to drag that dock way up here so it would not get washed away downriver. At this view the water is still flowing right to left.
There seems to be a lot of room in the parking lot today. 😂
