He's so ugly and I love him. I wish I had a pet that looked exactly like this goblin. I'd throw him at people like some violent Pokemon. It'd be great.

GODZILLA (1973) X-PLUS DEFOREAL (RIC)

I've made it no secret that I love the early 70s Godzilla, and it is my favorite iteration of the character for straight-up nostalgia. He had such a personality, fighting style, and friends. He was a hero and even had an evil mechanical counterpart that he battled to close out his era. He does look like a muppet, but that's fine with me. I wish there were more merchandise on this version of the character, but I'll take what I can get. X-Plus delivered the goods once again with their Godzilla 1973 Deforeal.

This figure is the RIC-BOY limited release, and it comes with interchangeable parts with a different arm and lower jaw. The telephone pole used as a toothpick and the branch as a katana was from promotional shots taken as an homage to the Kogarashi Monjirō TV chanbara series, which was popular then.

I was fortunate enough to get the RIC version of the Large Monster Series Godzilla 2021 release. This statue is different from the previous one I posted because the mouth and dorsal plates light up (Referred to as the RIC BOY or RIC version). Since the 2021 release is from Godzilla vs. Kong, you know that the light-up one is the one to get since Godzilla blasts almost everything in the movie. Finding the right time in the evening to take pictures of him to get the most out of the light-up feature proved difficult, but it worked.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Gigantic Shin Godzilla to take pictures of. The latest round of Shin-Mania is upon us, thanks to the latest Gigantic reissue by X-Plus (I did preorder this time!). However, I do have the Sakai Shin Godzilla, which I still love.

VARAN 1958, POSTER VERSION (DEFOREAL SERIES) - RIC-BOY EXCLUSIVE

I didn't expect a Saturday delivery, but I'm not complaining. This Varan Deforeal is almost perfect. I say almost because there's this air-bubble inside of his horn. Anyway, I dig this line, and I might buy the RIC of the first release that comes with the idol.

After digging the poster variant reissue of the Varan Deforeal, I decided to get the original RIC BOY version with the creepy idol (because I dig creepy idols). The last image of both the original and the poster versions.

As a legitimate fan of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, I'm thrilled to have this ugly yet cute snaggle-toothed monstrosity in my collection!
