As a Kiwi I have 2 things to say. 1. What a great initiative, this is a brilliant concept that should be taken further. 2. Who is the Progressive Party? (maybe been in asia too long…where a root canal doesn’t cost as much as a second hand car.)
Glad you agree. Never heard of the Progressive Party before either but it seems that they are in a very broad coalition with Labour which will appropriate some of their best ideas for their next election manifesto and policy programme. As a Brit I have family in the Uk who tell me that going private for anything other than routine treatment costs an arm and a leg. Here in Taiwan most costs are comparably much smaller for the same treatment, even for implants (my company's speciality). My preference would be for costs to be lower still for the complex treatments or for dental assistants (the unsung heroes of the clinics) to be paid more. Just saying ...
