i just saw a craigslist post for ~$12k of camera equipment, all listed as being in like-new, barely used condition. they said they were selling it all because they’re “switching to a different brand.” i found that so bizarre, how can you spend $12k (maybe $15k when they bought it all new) on a hobby, and when you don’t engage with it, decide that you didn’t engage bc the brand of your equipment is wrong. i literally cannot fathom.

Having a discussion with my mom bc i was talking about how much i hate rich people

And she asked if i was othering so i did some research bc I didn’t know if othering the uber wealthy is considered bad, esp bc they are largely helping to perpetuate the economic disparity and oppression of the rest of the population (in America)
