Dirk the Daring - Dragon's Lair (1983)
Through The Dragon's Eye
Dragon’s Lair Director: Charles A. Nichols | Studio: Ruby-Spears | USA, 1984
Despite the simplicity of the premise behind Dragon’s Lair, wherein the player moves through a series of randomized events and traps that play out pre-made animations depending on success or failure, the game still had to ensure that each scenario would fill out a decent amount of time per play. As such, many sequences are the same sequence one after the other, but with their animation cells flipped or action required changed based on minor adjustments to the scene, thus extending the length of the scene past the few seconds of animation that were actually made for it.
