Ricky Nelson impersonates Elvis Presley in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet episode entitled Hairstyle for Harriet, originally broadcast by ABC on January 9th, 1957 (coincidentally the day after Presley's 22nd birthday). Note the exaggerated false eyelashes used in Ricky's costume, a somewhat interesting choice considering that Nelson's natural lashes were actually longer and thicker than Elvis's (Ricky inherited his mother's eyes). Nelson and Presley, both massive teen heart-throbs of the era, were fans of each other's work and exchanged compliments when they met later that year at a party Elvis held in his suite at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel following his concert at The Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles on October 29th, 1957 (other party guests included Nick Adams, Sammy Davis Jr., Tommy Sands, and---wait for it---Carol Channing!). Presley praised Ricky's new hit single Be-Bop Baby, saying: "Man, I just love your new record!" He also said he was a fan of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet and offered Ricky advice on the rigors of touring. The photo below of Elvis and Ricky was taken during the private get together.
Happy Birthday, Ricky Nelson

Hey! Do you know anything about the times Phil met Rick Nelson? Saw those pictures of them and peter asher and lost my mind. I was just wondering if it was a one off or if they had a friendship.
Hi! Sadly I can't find anything about their relationship, just this short mention of Rick & Phil that doesn't really give us much insight:
"Rich Sautter tells me: I wanted to let you know about some Ochs footage I saw about 15 years ago. Apparently they filmed the acts that used to play at The Bitter End, a New York coffeehouse, I believe in Greenwich Village, back in the 60's. In the early 80's, they spliced together some of those appearances for television syndication as a series called (as I recall) "Live from the Bitter End", which featured Rick Nelson as host, introducing the 20 year-old segments. Phil's set included "I Ain't A-Marching", "Flower Lady", "The War Is Over", and "And There But For Fortune". Whether or not there was more film of Phil from that gig that wasn't used in the series, I don't know. I wish I'd had a VCR back then, because the sound and image reproduction was very good and Phil was in fine form. I have no idea if this series is available anywhere. I hope it is."
From this website:
I don't think they were very close, otherwise there would probably be much more info about their relationship, since Rick was a big star. But I may be wrong, if anyone knows anything please help out!
