What is the waving eye, which squinting, paints darkness and opens whole to light;

which takes different paths, sometimes dim, others bright;

which captures and enamors, though sets its captives free;

which draws attention toward it, even that of the sea?

Could you recall the open eye, which never seems to close;

which raises things up, and devastates them to new lows;

which rips into flesh, and breaks so much apart;

which gives us all our wind; our one true end, and our start?

My death today would be a riddle half made

Or maybe less; an incomplete rhyme.

I pray that my days lived will stay a growing number,

And as they move forward, I go back in time.

It’s hard to break free; to rethink a stanza

even when I am so stuck in one place.

I really can do anything that I want to,

But at the same time,

There are some things I just can’t face.

So I won’t move this moment,

Maybe I will the next

I won’t be here forever,

But I should be tomorrow.

I want you to know that even if you don’t solve riddles, just appreciating them is enough to impress me. Riddles have a lot of negative stigma around them because they have been twisted into something un-fun, but they are an art. They are to be appreciated and enjoyed, even if you aren’t the best at solving them. And even if you aren’t, you can learn techniques to better solve them (I will make a video on this). I never want anyone to feel ashamed over riddles, or feel as though they’re inadequate because they don’t instantly solve them. There’s no time limit, and no judgement EVER. (Unless I don’t like you)

Making me takes time, acceptance, and forgiveness

And even after that, I can be gone in an instant

I am but a bit of a puzzle’s flesh,

If you wish to keep me, your patience I will test

And my body is bestrewn with tiny, winding streams

In its center, there moves a target;

An apprentice, a student
