girl im so sorry i doubted your cuntiness
full unedited versions of my entries for thundercrack carnivale and riot of rot for this year!
possible redesign for ridgebacks? still thinking about it, but ive been thinking about these guys for a while. I think these are the most confusing species for me. I understand their canon niche is supposed to be funny but it kind of annoys me. Also sorry for removing their wings.... I cant figure out how they would work with all the armor + I dont think they would benefit from it at all (specially i think it makes their sillhouette look ugly and busy)
The current gist of what I'm thinking is (beyond the fact i cant decide wether to make these two different subspecies but genetically similar to the point cross breeding is extremely common and are basically considered the same, or if i want them to have extreme sexual dysmorphism even though ik this would be impossible, im just having some sillay fuun) that this species has a very hard shell, and is very ancient-- one of the few megafauna still existing within the shifting expanse. Terrestrial will bury into the ground to cool down and their spines can be dangerous if youre not paying attention where youre walking. they do it by lying on the sand and shimming in, like horned lizards. Their spines also work as a primary cooling system and is also used for storage of water. They do dig, and have dexterious fingers/toes that help that. their tail form a mace-like shape. males grow large horns at their nose. based them off horned lizards, rhinos, thyreophora, camels. Aquatics have similar cooling systems, but spend most of their time near the ocean shore or the river system that runs nearby. They do not store water on their spines, and have modified spines at the back that join to create a kind of sail, and have a flatter tail used for swimming. They have a much stronger bite than their land counterparts, as well as a more diversified diet. They enjoy basking. both carry their young in their mouths until they've grown big enough.
i havent been drawing much at all because all the work i have been doing has been on commissions anyway sneaksie peaksies for you all of my current commission work ( still fussing with the sketch of another and it doesnt look right yet so im embarrassed to show it off ;-; )
