While not knowing where he was upon waking up wasn’t something that was entirely new to Mono, it was still something that was unnerving, to say the least. Especially with the fact that he was right by some kind of giant hole; one that, while his curiosity prompted him to stare down into the depths of it for a moment, he quickly discovered that he couldn’t see the bottom. Something about it gave the already nervous boy a very bad feeling in his gut, and he forced himself to look away rather quickly.
It didn’t take long for his fear to turn into panic as a vehicle pulled up beside him. The driver inside started to speak-- something about the city of Spirale welcoming him?-- but Mono wasn’t listening; he didn’t care, and he sure as hell wasn’t getting in that car. It didn’t even look like any kind of car he had ever seen...
Instead, the boy began to book it barefoot across the street, trying to get as far away from the mysterious driver as he possibly could. He didn’t trust any of this, and pure adrenaline was rushing through his veins-- especially as more strange vehicles whizzed by, their loud honks as he darted in front of several of them making it obvious enough that the street was busy.
One in particular seemed to be coming at him very fast, but rather than freeze, the boy made a leap for it onto the sidewalk. He landed hard on his front, chest heaving as he tried to gasp for air after such a mad dash and after having the wind knocked out of him from his landing-- only to find that he was right at a stranger’s feet.
The boy immediately cowered into a ball, tugging on his paper bag as if to hide himself. He wasn’t foolish enough to think such a thing would actually work, but it was his first instinct anyways.
