Rika ! she's more of a fromsoftware oc, not specific to dark souls, but I'll still use the opportunity to talk about her :')
here she is in all her glory, GODSLAYER RIKA!!! Idk what all to include here so I'll just spit some random facts at you
the name Rika is of Japanese origins, it roughly translates to "village" "fragrance," or possibly "peaceful ruler" or "estate ruler" as per the Germanic translation. it's kinda hard for me to place a specific translation but I think these few are quite fitting for her.
in essence Rika's whole thing is she's essentially like the bringer of end times I guess you could say ? oooh very edgy I know. basically, whenever she appears, she brings upon the end of the previous era and ushers in the start of a new era. she reincarnates thru every game, assuming all fromsoftware worlds are connected, which I personally do believe. sometimes it takes eons for her to show up, but eventually she rears her silly grey head. basically, she is the main character, and the world is her oyster.
she's 5'2" with a very comically oversized sword that she shouldn't be able to wield. and yet she does it with ease
her main stats are strength, vigor, and endurance. she has maxed out vigor so she can take a lot of damage. she is the definition of a tank, more likely to take a hit than to roll into it. for her it's not as fun if it doesn't hurt a little 💌
as for her build, in elden ring she uses the tree sentinel armor set minus the helmet bc I like seeing her face n her pretty grey hair lol. her weapon is the guts greatsword, it's just called greatsword, it's one of the first weapons you get in caelid, and it's fully leveled. her talisman uhhhhh I think she has Erdtree's Favor +2, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Two-handed Sword Talisman, and the 4th talisman I switch out between the other status effect talismans, the ones for magic/fire/lightning/holy damage depending on what area I'm in. or sometimes I use the Two-headed Turtle talisman for better stamina regen or Gold Scarab for rune farming.
in dark souls 2 I'll be honest idk what weapon she's using bc that game is hard as hell lol I'll update this in like a year or two when I'm pro
her skin, hair, and eyes are grey. it's hard to translate this into the games but in my head she's like, fully without pigment if that makes sense. when she navigates the world it's like the gods forgot to paint in the space she takes up. colors dull around her, like she's sapping the life out of them. sometimes she looks more like a drawing than a person.
in spite of her brutish strength she is surprisingly graceful. her movements appear more like a ghostly apparition gliding through the sky than a seasoned warrior bloodied in battle. she could dodge her opponents if she wanted to, but as I said previously, she much prefers tanking the damage. it's more fun that way.
one would assume that someone with such a heavy fate would be brooding, or maybe even a little uppity, but not Rika. for someone who aspires to the throne of Elden Lord (or I don't know I guess you become the true monarch and link the fire or something in DS2 idk idk idk I haven't beaten it yet), she's pretty informal. nothing like the pious dictators you imagine when you think of a king. in truth it's because while her fate dictates her onto greater and greater paths, she herself isn't that concerned with obtaining any sort of political power. for her the pursuit is very physical, almost instinctual. it really is just all about hitting big enemies with big ass swords. the violence is the point. her ambitions lead her to defeat stronger and stronger foes, and if some of those foes turn out to be gods? then so be it. as far as she sees it the gods aren't worthy of such a title if they can so easily fall to an average everyday nobody like her. otherwise, Rika is quite easy to get along with. she tries to make friendly with everyone she encounters on her travels. including npcs and my other tarnished ocs <3
she's gay. I mean I guess she doesn't actually have any specific label for her sexuality, because she does not think about it in any capacity beyond the fact that she fucks women. but I know that she's a lesbian bc I'm the one who made her, and that's what's important. her canon wife is Ranni ok but she gets a wife in every game as is fromsoftware tradition
