The scent of blood was heavy in the air. Anders’ black fur was stained with it, though the only way it was noticeable was the dampness of certain patches. There were two vampires laying headless on the ground beside him, but there were two more closing in. Already, he could feel the sting of his own wounds as they slowly but surely healed, and the shifter tried to catch his breath.
He’d been on his way home once more, realizing he’d forgotten his phone back at home somewhere, as well as his wallet. Clearly, he couldn’t buy anything at the bar if it meant he had nothing to pay with. But the realization that a witch was now dead, and there were multiple vampires responsible, Anders made a stupid decision. And now, now he was paying for it.
It all happened fairly quickly, double teamed by two of Persephone’s hellions once they realized he was not able to kill them with a simple bite, the knife entered his stomach. It was a sickening crunch of ribs as the knife pierced through them, shattering them like they were glass. The shift back to his human form was necessary, as the presence of another vampire made the remaining two leave. Anders wondered if the last one was here to finish the job. He held his hand over his stomach, the blood easily gushing through and past his fingers. He didn’t even have a phone to call Dante, to call anyone that would possibly be able to help him in this situation. “Don’t – Don’t fucking come any closer or I’ll–” he broke off as he coughed, the sound wet as blood stained his teeth – his own blood, this time. At this rate, he would drown in his own blood before he bled out through the wound in his stomach.
