Nanami had wanted to buy him special medicine but Rin had laughed it off, assuring her that the baby was just fine and that a little sickness wouldn't hurt him. Now she blames him, convinced she could have saved him if she just ignored Rin. It's a difficult time for them both, with her brother trying to counsel forgiveness and understanding.

Nanami went from living on cloud nine to the very depths of despair. She spends a lot of her time now alone, writing music dedicated to her lost son. She's convinced she must make amends to him, somehow. More and more she looks at the boats leaving the harbor and wishes she was on one. Honestly if Nanami jumped on a boat he'd probably join her.
