voice actor!reader x nerd! sukuna in which reader voices his favorite character and he doesn’t know until he watches the credits for the first time please? Like he’s watching his anime, uses to bathroom and comes back to the credits and sees reader’s name next to his favorite character and just yells: “BABE YOU’RE [character]?!
you honestly just never thought of bringing it up, it didn't seem too important and you honestly just did the voice acting gig as something for fun. from your point of view, it wasn't such a big accomplishment. so imagine your amusement when you're over at sukuna's place and he's watching an anime where you voice one of the main characters.
you enter the apartment as if you owned it (which you practically did with how often you were over at his place) and see the anime playing on the screen. specifically, a scene where your character monologues. "what'cha watching, ryo?" you ask as you take your shoes off and close the door behind you before marching over to your boyfriend where he sat on the couch.
he tells you the name and opens his arm on one side, letting you take a seat next to him on the couch. "the same one i usually watch," he tells you, placing a kiss on the side of your forehead as a greeting. "one of my favorite ones."
"ohh," you hum. "you got a crush on one of the girls or something?"
sukuna lets out a mock laugh, "real funny, baby."
you narrow your eyes, "you aren't denying anything."
"i just think her character is cool, nothing like that."
now, you decide to have your fun. "isn't she the girl in those edits you repost?"
"don't tell me your still mad about that," he grumbles.
you playfully smack his arm and get off the couch to head to the kitchen. "whatever, not like i care. what does she even say?" you hum in 'thought'. you deliver one of the famous lines but you keep your usual voice instead of the voice for your character. you see sukuna perk up and turns around to face you with narrowed eyes. you bite your tongue to prevent the smile from growing on your face. you turn your back to him and open the fridge to hide your face.
sukuna knows that you're just messing with him but for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that you sounded awfully familiar to the girl from the anime. he doesn't know why but something told him to skip forward to see the end credits. once the screen fades to black and the white text floods his tv, he eagerly scans the names for the character. and of course, there's your name.
he rubs his eyes behind his glasses, making sure that they weren't playing tricks on him. he even pauses the screen and gets up to look at the name. but there it is, staring right back at him clear as day.
you don't hear him approach you but you do feel it when he comes up behind you and bear hugs you, putting his head on your shoulder. "so when were you going to tell me that you voiced one of my favorite characters, hm?"
you try to play dumb, "i- uhm, i don't know what you're talking about?"
he tickles you on your side for your lie. "liar, i saw your name on the tv screen, dummy."
you try to speak through the laughs, "i just didn't think it was a big deal!"
he turns you around but keeps your body close to his, "anything else your keeping from me? do you make asmr or something too?"
you shove your hand into his face, "i bet you wish i did!"
he takes your hand off his face by grabbing your wrist to reveal a shit-eating grin. "i don't need asmr when i have the real thing."
