IM FEELING SAD!!! uh wrote angst idea based off the fallout TV show for Bombita. (and mainly bombita x victor yeah ship angst)
After the Battle of Hoover Dam I think a few months, maybe a year or two later, she either quits or is fired by House. He realizes that even though she is helping him, the conflict between her ideals and his can cause contradictions in their intentions when working together. To avoid future issues, he lets her go. Of course she’s upset by this! Not only because of the opportunities she’s losing, but also because of the close connection she had with Victor. That separation from House also causes a drift between her and Victor, to the point where she doesn’t go to the Strip as much anymore, and her visits to Goodsprings become few and far between.
She never truly agreed with Mr. House or his ideals, and it’s hard for her to come to terms with what she lost because of that. The fall out between her and Victor isn’t due to their relationship itself, but rather her distancing herself as a way to separate from anything connected to House. There isn’t resentment between them, but she develops this “I don’t need you” mentality at least on her side, which she convinces herself is for her own good. Because of her paranoia, she begins to question whether Victor was ever truly on her side, or if he was just a spy for House all along like people have been telling her. That doubt creates an internal conflict for her, making it harder to trust the memories they shared. If she ever tried to confront him about it, he wouldn’t be able to give her a clear answer, not fully understanding the extent of House’s control over him or the possible intentions behind it. She tries to force that distance, especially since her paranoia keeps telling her that no matter how close she gets to Victor, House will always be there. To her, it isn’t worth the risk, no matter how much he meant to her.
I think during the ten years leading up to where the show takes place, they wouldn’t see each other at all. There’s still a sense of yearning when she thinks about old memories, helping around the Mojave and being with Victor, but she plays it off like she was being used and doesn’t need him (which clearly isn’t true). For Victor, it’s a bit different. Since he’s still controlled by House, even if he doesn’t fully acknowledge it, there could be altered or corrupted memories of her, either intentionally changed or affected by internal conflict. At times, he might recall fragments of her more as data than emotion, like something important that’s just out of reach.
Physically, I think she would go through major changes. Her hair would be cut very short, and she wouldn’t wear much clown makeup anymore, maybe just something simple. After a show incident involving explosives, she ends up badly burned, with injuries covering about half of her body. It’s not severe enough to completely hide, as the scars would heal over time, but it’s enough to show that she’s no longer the same, aside from those brown eyes and that smile she still tries to hold onto despite everything. Some of the scars might tighten along her arms and side, subtly affecting how she moves and works.
She would now be working as the new owner of the motel instead of one of the employees or performers. She still keeps up with mechanical maintenance, but she’s far more careful when handling weapons than before. She used to rely on Victor to help her with that, but now, with the lingering pain of scars still healing, it’s clear he wasn’t there. not because he couldn’t be, but because she didn’t let him. Over time, she’s become more self-reliant like her older self before the motel, even stubbornly so, choosing to handle things alone rather than risk reopening old ties.
(addition because someone said they just want the idea to be her sleeping peacefully)
With the scattered, broken securitrons near Vegas, she starts to truly believe something has happened to Victor. It’s something she carries with her when she sleeps. A quiet, uneasy guilt that settles in her chest. She still manages to rest despite it all, but not peacefully.
She keeps a broken securitron arm she’s had for a while, one that belonged to Victor’s build before it was shot down during one of their old fights with raiders. It’s one of the few things she has left of him. She doesn’t like to admit it, but it matters to her more than she wants it to. That guilt lingers. She tells herself she didn’t need him, that she didn’t even like him, but if what her mind is telling her is true, she realizes she would rather resent him to his face than let him fade into memory.
(ahhh she doesn't know he's at camp Gulf)
