“There is something at work in my soul, which I do not understand.”
~ Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
♤ Preferred armor/clothing style?
"...Since I learned its impolite to be without-" Riniel recited, as if this fact was a fairly recent development in her collection of knowledge, before moving to a small area in her dorm where various garbs were hanging for future use. "Usually, I like to wear clothing that is lightweight and easy to move in, most magicians I know call them robes." Extending one out she shows off a particular blue garment rather pleased. "I like to wear pants though with them... Did you know some mages do not!?” A fact that she proclaimed rather excitedly before bursting into a small fit of girlish giggles. “When I do not feel like a robe, there are these soft tunics I like to wear. They are easier to wash the plant and dirt stains out of, and are easier to replace."
The end of Spring had come and the arrival of the Summer was on the horizon. Nestled in a comfortable nook between large trees the incomplete elf tried her hardest to remain focused. Lavender eyes narrowed on the text, skimming over the words one and a time, trying to wrap her head around the concepts presented within the pages. Word after word passed until finally, the young woman sank forward, hanging her head in defeat, for the time being, lifting her hand to lightly trace along strands of bright blonde hair that abruptly ended all at once. Shifting her attention to the strands, she studied the unequal ends, signs of the abrupt and less than stylish removal of much longer ends.
Extending her hands up into the air, she stretched, then felt a yawn come on. A few passing students would become infected by the said yawn, producing their own before grumbling in annoyance. Shifting her gaze back down to the book, she arched her brows, before furrowing them back down immediately into a would-be pout. None of it was required study, but there had been a professor very insistent that she take time outside of class to read up on what she expressed as a 'very important part' to recovering her former self.
Right, amnesia, that was the lie they'd come up with to explain her lack of knowledge. Still, her eyes wandered to the large open stone arch of the school's entrance, longingly gazing out imagining the fields she could be catching mice in, trees she with branches large enough to climb or a nice stump where Riniel perch herself to practice music. Temptation won out. Standing up, the student dusted off her robes before moving to her dorm room to acquire more comfortable garb.
The book remained. Abandoned in beneath the tree. Pages upon pages of detailed historical information on the formation of El Rano simply left to blow with the gentle breeze.
Maybe later she would come to care more for it.

“Hmmm…” Pressing her finger to her lip, violet eyes lifted to the sky in brief consideration. After a moment or two of bobbing her head from side to side searching for her words, she lowered her gaze to finally speak. “What I seek… is home.”
“I have a room at a school, there are people I know, but the more I read and learn the more I realize I lack one of the key elements that most creatures need to sustain themselves and that’s a home. Not so much a city or a place, but people who are home. I can walk in any place and find adventure but it would be nice to know at the end of the day there are people who, should I need company, are there for me…” Briefly, she glances down at her feet, lightly fidgetting at the thought. “…People who don’t believe I’m incomplete.”
