SNSD, AKB48, technically pop groups, but if it really bothers you... BuzzG & Supercell are still Vocaloid producers, but they also produce a lot of rock. I usually play it... by ear! :D (terrible pun was terrible)
I'm definitely more liberal.
Who is your last text from?
Some kid I know who's obsessed with video games XD.
I don't really have that many secrets...
Not many people know I'm switching majors though...
Other than that, I have secret projects for Otakon that I can't say here because the surprise is for people who follow me >.>
2 pieces of cinnamon toast & a glass of grapefruit juice.
Most used website besides Tumblr?
YouTube. I watch waaay too many videos to be considered socially acceptable or even humanly normal.
Are you looking forward to anything?
OTA-FRIGGIN'-KON. (& I'm hoping it doesn't backfire on me...)
Something that makes you happy?
Music, Dance, Art, Video Games, generally relaxing.
My 2 cats, Leo and Tangy (who is addicted to food and meowing outside my door even though I already FED HIM.)
Favorite thing about yourself?
I guess the fact that I'm tolerant of a lot of people's behavior if they're not being destructive of anything, but that's also my weak point as well.
Favorite band and why they’re your favorite? (The why is the important part)
I'll explain the first 2 because it would take too long if I explained them all.
They were actually my first K-Pop group and I had really just stuck with them ever since. While they're a larger group and it calls for it automatically, I really like their vocals. As well, despite them being a larger group, their dancing is very synchronized 90% of the time. My only dilemma with them is that the members are all a bit too similar at times and that can turn some non-Asian-Pop-Listeners off from them.
AKB48 + sister groups (disclaimer before you get mad; this is only my opinion. It's most likely unpopular. You don't have to listen to it.):
Despite all of my dilemmas with them I will give them this: For such a massive group, their visuals & synchronization is phenomenal. I also find their group concept quite amusing. Generally, they're a really fun group to watch. At the same time, their concept is also the problem. The fact that they're so large may turn off people from trying them. It even bugs me to some extent because it makes me feel like I'll never get to know everyone who was in the group while they were in it. Also, because the same producer writes all of their songs, they tend to sound the same.
But that's actually not my main complaint. My main complaint is actually... their vocals. Like I just said, they make up for it in synchronization, but come on! They perform in major performances and singles with at least 16 members at a time with pretty lame harmonies and minimal ad libbing... The thing that bothers me the most about it is that I know they can do it! Just listen to Oogoe Diamond and Ponytail to Shushu. It's there. But at the same time, there are moments like near the end of Iiwake Maybe that I am literally screaming for ad libs and there aren't any! SNSD has better harmonies than them and they're 9 people.
All I'm saying is, they perform 16 people at a time. Find the strongest vocal, use her, and then write stronger & more complicated harmonies. Then they may actually become my favorite overall group. Until then, SNSD will continue to hold the top spot.
I actually have several. Zenkaikon & Otakon 2012 were two of them, mostly because they were my first cons, but I guess a non-convention-related memory would be a lot of the stuff that came from my color guard days. One would be the first time we won a championship, despite it being in a lower class, the others would be all the awesome trips that I took because of marching band. (one of which was to Sandusky, OH in the same hotel that Colossalcon is held. Wanted to go back ever since...)
If you go in the past and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Don't lie to yourself. Don't be afraid of leaving something you really don't like no matter how much people seem to pressure you into staying.
Do what you really want to do and fight for it. Not what other people would like for you to do.
Also... get into K-pop sooner. You'll like it. XD
What’s something you like that you didn’t think you’d like at all before you had tried it?
Favorite kinds of candles? (Like scents and stuff)
I don't have a favorite candle, but I like the smell of vanilla a lot.
What’s something you thought you would like but wound up not liking at all?
Favorite language? (Other than English)
It'd be cheating if I said Japanese or Korean, but...
