My opinion on the wildcard club announcement?
TL;DR: I don't like it. It feels corporate to me, I don't like vtuber culture at all (this is very Vtuber), and the entire group vibes are off. More power to Rin, I'm glad streamer is getting enrichment in their enclosure, but I simply don't like tea.

Well.... I'm really, genuinely not a huge fan. And I think that's because of many things- for one, I hate change. That's at least part of it. A second one is that I genuinely don't like vtuber culture- it's sterilized and corporate and anything that resembles it makes me feel physically ill. Especially with stuff like announcements of announcements of announcements, the freaking meeting in Korea to do this, the sheer polish put into the editing but the shitty microphones... Yeah no.
And you may be asking: Rin_penrose_plushie_in_places! You're literally a vtuber fanblog! Why do you do this if you don't like vtuber culture? And to that I say: Rin Penrose barely participates in vtuber culture. All her friends that she usually plays with aren't "proper" vtubers. She makes fun of vtuber culture! She explicitly wants nothing to do with corporations trying to control her IP! She does whatever she wants forever! The only time I've ever seen her properly interact with vtuber culture is the redebut- which I also really disliked until the song came out and was like "hey bro he'll still do whatever he wants forever and have an ego and be stupid".
Still though, it feels very corporate with the well-drawn but utterly personality lacking thumbnails (Rin Penrose would NOT wear that fucking shirt) and how none of them even sound that enthusiastic about this (at least to me). Also the camp counselor thing. Also none of these groups ever last more than three months unless they're silly about it. And like. Idk, I'm just tired of it! I'm tired of idol culture I'm tired of corporations I'm tired of a lack of being genuine!
Then again, maybe I'm reading this the wrong way. Maybe it's a genuine want to do stuff together, I don't know. I mean no offense with this line of thought that it's "corporate". Clearly, something isn't working out for me either way. To be fair, it also gets my streamer to actually socialize more which is great! Enrichment for streamer. Please, Rin Penrose, talk to people.
Finally, the other thing that I simply don't like about it is the group in general - no offense to Dokibird, but I simply don't like her. I don't like her style of content, what she plays, her way of speaking, and how loud she is. I don't even like her design. She's abrasive to me in the same way many anime protagonists are-- I'm sure there's a market out there, but I am far away from that. Ironmouse is also in a vastly different market than where I am, although that market doesn't entirely conflict with what I'm looking for. Amalee is much the same. They also feel like they don't know each other very well at all, and like... I'm not watching strangers play Mario kart or whatever together. That, and Doki + Amalee seem to talk over Rin and Ironmouse a lot in the couple of colabs we've seen. Especially Rin. She was off on her own throughout the entire gnome thing, even, while everyone else was having fun together. To be fair, this happens a lot with him specifically in colabs where he doesn't know as many people but generally it's uncomfortable to watch.
STILL!!! this is simply my opinion. No offense or anything similar is meant to anyone involved, this is just simply not my cup of tea, especially considering I don't even like tea. Maybe I'll come to like it, I dunno, but I'm generally going to avoid it and mind my own business. Still, I am also glad streamer is getting involved in stuff even if I don't find it fun to watch myself. More power to her, really.
I wasn't even planning on talking about it, I'll be honest anon, but thanks for the ask anyways. Sorry if I'm too negative, I think I'm a hater at heart.
