Ok so!
I totally agree with your take on Rio when it comes to gender. Why would it care about any social constructs of any specific species š¤·š»āāļø.
Which also plays into her thoughts on āmoralityā IMO like ok so no your āgodā says this is right and this is wrong but like I could care less. She doesnāt care that Agatha kills not because they like people dying (also donāt care just part of the job) but because like not some evil thing itās just the way the cycle works š¤·š»āāļø
What are your thoughts on that body? That āformā really. She can take many, any. Yet when she is in it does it end up being the same. Does it take a certain amount of time in it or is it always? Like I love the idea of her having to ātake care of itā like eat and sleep and what not when staying in it for sometime not because could die cuz obviously not but just so uncomfortable like I donāt need to eat to live but being in a body thatās starving just is uncomfortable for to long š
What are your thoughts on it! I want your lore drop š

I think the most plausible explanation for her getting a body was that she took it from someone who had died. Some fics Iāve read explored thisā where she moved someone forward but kept their body afterwards.
Iām sure she has had multiple bodies in the past, because she had to of had something with skin and bones to be a good buffer for both the human realm and the afterlife. I mean, imagine how fucking scary it would be if your ride to the afterlife was just a boney skeleton with a green crown; Rioās job was to make them at least a little ācomfortableā in their new home. What better way to make someone comfortable than to look like someone they would know?
Before Agatha, and since I donāt believe Rio would care about pronouns, gender, or any sort of āattractivenessā, Iām sure she took at least one or two bodies that were both men and women. When trying to appeal to Agatha, I like to think she tried on so many more until she landed on the right one, which we know as her in the show.
Iād assume she kept that body from whenever she first met Agatha to present day, and that she can sleep, and eat, and breathe, but itās either less important or she doesnāt have to do it all together. However, I do like your hc that if she doesnāt, she wonāt die, but the body will. Maybe thatās happened before with one of her forms, so she eats just enough and sleeps just enough to surviveā for Agatha. Itās her first time being human too, let her watch her wife kinda creepily while she sleeps. Weāve all done it.
The idea that her body would give out if she didnāt take care of it is really interesting, because sheās literally just replacing the formās consciousness. If the bodies dies, she lives on. Which could lead to the form not being (in the past) of much value to her, just a vessel to live in to make her immortal life interesting, until she met Agatha.
